Is it just me, or is everything WAY too positive in this 'review'? This is less a critique of the film and more of a plug for it.

Is it just me, or did he keep it balanced by talking about the things he didn't like, too? RTFA?

Maybe, just maybe... he actually liked the movie.

  3. Re:honestly now on Spoiler-Free Review of Indiana Jones · · Score: 1

Why? Just because of the first two words in the title? That, frankly, is a piss-poor reason to see a movie. Yours is the exact attitude that causes movie studios to continue producing terrible sequels and re-makes instead of movies that are worth watching. Why innovate when you can imitate for cheaper and people will eat it up anyway, right? Why would I ever by a second CD from a band I really like? I mean, I'm sure they'll still sound the same... Well, I buy it because I know I'll probably like it. Like the movies, sometimes I'm wrong. Come on... this (Indiana Jones) a franchise series where each movie has a completely different plot. Sure, it's got some of the same shtick to it... otherwise they wouldn't all be "Indiana Jones" movies, would they? Rehashing the gags is sorta required to put the logo on the box. Besides, it's a far cry from, say, the Rambo series... now, *those* movies were like the Rolling Stones albums from the 80's... they all sound alike.

What the? Did you not read the article? Why are people so confused over this??

Look... it's not a big deal.

The FCC's taking care of the OTA folks in this digital switchover by giving them vouchers to buy digital-to-analog converts. Fine. With this ruling, they're simply saying that cable companies have to be the digital-to-analog converters for there customers until 2012. That way the FCC doesn't have to deal with those folks. In other words, your digital cable box will be required to have an RF output to your TV until 2012. That gives people enough time after the change over to get new TV's without being an undo hardship.

    Period. Big freak'n whoop.

The actual analog transmissions to your home will be digital. Analog transmissions will be dead. But, your old analog TV won't be dead. Not a bad thing, really. There's an awful lot of TV's that would end up in the land fills otherwise.

Which brings me to this. Do the people posting articles even read the articles?? Do the editors read the articles?? Just about every story getting posted here has some sensational headline and summary that has nothing to do with the actual content of the article.

And of course, the comment follow suit.

You know, that's a good point! Again, with a credit card or any other "in the wallet" form of ID, you have to get the physical item to make a copy. With RFID, what's to keep someone from scanning the signal as you pass by and just replicate the signal?

    Surely that's been addressed, though.

  11. Morbid Identity Theft on Social Consequences and Effects of RFID Implants? · · Score: 1
So, let's get a bit morbid here, then, shall we? Today, identity theft is as simple as stealing someones wallet. Fine. But if we all get our nice RFID implants and all the doors, cars and bank accounts we own open up in our very presence, hmmmm... that would give new meaning to putting a price on my head.
    1. Kill me.
    2. Extract the chip.
    3. Put it in a small card that fits in your wallet.
    4. Profit!
Of course, by that time, every street corner and decent home (with people that have "nothing to hide") will have cameras aimed at them, so you'd never get away with it... right?
