However, they are having trouble convincing people to buy this "music", since the stuff the APs produce, while conforming to the desired demographic parameters, is vapid, uninspired and boring.

How is that different from today's music?

    Anyway, it has already begun.

FTDI chips have very reliable and freely available drivers for their ICS for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Their ICs are so easy to use that you don't even have to think about them, the work is already done on both the PC side and the uC side. You code as if both sides were using an actual serial connection, the FTDI chip does all the USB-serial work. They're really plug'n play.

    ARTHUR: Why?

FORD: No, the clever thing is that you film it happening. You get a movie camera from somewhere and actually film it. But then you thread the film in the projector backwards.

    ARTHUR: Backwards?

FORD: Yeah, neat you see. So what happens is you sit and you watch it and then everything appears to swirl upwards, out of the plug hole and fill the bath amazing.

ARTHUR: And that’s how the universe began?

FORD: No. But it’s a marvellous way to relax.

    TRILLIAN: Funny man.
