Never mind all your fears about Google checking out the files you upload, they'll probably discontinue this new "Google Drive" service in a few months, like almost all of their other services.
And a textarea input doesn't require you to insert a return character when you reach the end of a line on your screen.
I wish slashdot would patch that automatically, i.e. one return = remove it because the poster doesn't know how the technology works, two returns = split into two paragraphs.
You're giving me the "it's not you, it's me" routine? I invented "it's not you, it's me". Nobody tells me it's them not me, if it's anybody it's me. - George
If they can read it at least as fast as today's technologies, the power required to read/write data is roughly the same as today's drives and the manufacturing cost is also about the same, this is good news for everyone:
1. On the consumer side, cheaper drives per terabyte meaning cheaper home media servers 2. On the commercial side, a lot less energy required, i.e. no need for ultra-fast 15k RPM drives in servers, need up to 15 times fewer drives in server farms. This is BIG.
Just tell me when MAME and a decent front-end are available for it, complete with FAT32 SD card, 44.1KHz, 16-bit, stereo audio, 60Hz framerate and USB HID joystick support.
Nothing as drastic, but I've heard that the Office québécois de la langue française gave him a "C" because of typos and grammatical errors in his message.
Salem, je serai à New York le 25 janvier, on va exploser ACN, si vous avez des contacts référez-les moi.
Translates to: Salem, I will be in New York on January 25h, we will explode ACN, if you have contacts refer them to me.
So yes, if you only see that sentence alone by itself, it will make you want to go and arrest the man.
The question is, why didn't they dig a bit deeper to get more information such as more details about the supposed bomb and other supposed terrorists *AND* why was his message intercepted in the first place? Welcome to 1984. The real terrorists did win, everyone in North America now lives in a police state.
At 3m54s, there's this very specific "aaaaaaah!" yelling that I've heard in a lot of movies. Is that some kind of running gag between audio engineers or something?
Actually, if all the poor would simply kill the rich and redistribute their wealth, everybody would be better off except 5% of the population.
Maths always win.
In case anyone is wondering what Skinkie is talking about, here's the link.
How is GMail not just another me-too email service? Because of the targeted ads?

The "stupid DRM format", has been gone from iTunes Store audio files for almost two years now.
Buy music from the iTunes Store and you can play it on any device capable of playing regular AAC files.

Not, it's because it's a 5 megabits per second cable modem.
You can drop your nerd card in the little box on the way out.
It's not that kind of packages, dumbass.
He probably means the UPS and FedEx kind of packages, you know, like when you order stuff from eBay?
You've also just told everyone that you're still using a 40-characters-wide monitor.
A hooker, you say?

Can we make an exception and give this guy "Score: +infinity, Funny and Insightful"?
My current ISP still thinks I'm using MFM drives.

There is only one problem.
Coding != Programming.
HTML5 and CSS is coding.
PHP* and Javascript* is programming.
I don't care if you hate those, it's still programming. Now go cry in the corner.
There's still SparkFun.com and Adafruit.com, I guess.

Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.
There's your problem. You should be writing your programs to run on the Coleco Adam.
Here's an easy solution: remove Flash from your system.
