  1. Isn't this just like Netscape all over again? on Microsoft Anti-Spyware to Be Free of Charge · · Score: 1

Just like Netscape, Microsoft is adding something to their OS add a service that is already available, for free. Perhaps to run the others out of business?

  2. It's all a part of the Internet free society on "Spim" is Latest Online Annoyance · · Score: 1

We want everything on the Internet to be free, but then we want to limit spammers and spimmers from doing their thing (me included). It all comes down to a trade-off between freedom to use the Internet as we please and being tolerent of others doing the same thing! ;-)

  3. Could be worse on mp3.com Acquired by CNet · · Score: 5, Interesting

CNET does a good job with most of their sites. I use download.com almost as much as I use Freshmeat. I look forward to seeing how they handle this baby.

  4. One day they will patent walking... on Evolving the Social Network · · Score: 0, Redundant
    ...and we'll all be screwed!

Seriously, something has got to be done about patenting of simple things like this. Why does everyone have to hored all their cool ideas! Is it that important to make a few more bucks by keeping everyone else from using your cool little idea?

WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG! :-)

  5. Kinda sounds like Defense Against the Dark Arts! on Defense and Detection Against Internet Worms · · Score: 3, Interesting
OK, maybe I've been reading too much Harry Potter lately. :)

But this all does seem to be more and more like a battle between good (computer users) and evil (worm/virus programmers). How bad will it get when we have everything electronic talking to everything else electronic? Soon you will only need to be within 10 feet of something to get attacked by a worm or virus!

  6. Re:Wrong on Lunar Polar Ice Not Present · · Score: 1
...I know for a FACT that there absolutely no drunken [Russian] astronauts...

Visions of the MIR crash immediately come to mind. But you really can't blame them! Russia is trying to keep up with the US space program, but can't manage to feed half their people. Hell, I'd have a drink or two in that situation as well!

  7. Re:But I thought... on Liberty Alliance Completes Phase 2 · · Score: 1

What about phase 1? Did I miss it? Man I've got to keep up-to-date better.

  8. Thumbsize? I can't even keep up with all my CDs! on Replace Your Music....Again · · Score: 1

I understand smaller is better, but this might be too small.
