    Shit, give me a call, I'd even buy a plane ticket and fricken hand deliver it if you allowed me a $1200 dollar markup.

    You gonna fly over, and install replacement parts if they go bad? Gonna fully warantee it, and give me tech support when I need it? Gonna provide me with software patches, firmware upgrades, and online technical references?

    Probably not.

    That since they are running the Opteron in 32-bit mode, it's not taking advantage of it's full potential. Guess we'll wait until "round 2" like he says, but it still looks bad that he kind of dodges this.

    Try reading the article. He addresses this, but I'll save you the time. OSX is not a 64-bit OS either, so neither really has any advantage there. Hopefully, in the next few months, each system will have a fully 64-bit OS, so we can really see some full speed comparisons.

    Feds have *never* turned down an application for a warrant to themselves in Patriot related matters - which is not solely related to 'terrorist' activity - even when terrorist activity was rather loosely defined. They're now using it for domestic crimes.

    And you know this because.....? Don't forget. They ALWAYS need a warrent issued by a judge..... Same as it's always been. No changes here people... Move along.

    don't think you could do that. Liquid nitrogen is diamagnetic, meaning it is slightly affected by magnetic fields. In other words, the coolant could possibly conduct enough electricity to cause damage the hardware.

    (Affected by magnetism) != conductivity

    Sheriff Joe always seems to come up with new ways of raising eyebrows here in Phoenix. If you look him up on google, you'll find he also had cameras pointing at prisoners, he makes people wear black-and-white stripes in jail, he feeds then the bare minimum for food sometimes, and he has this "tent city" that I hear is not a fun place to visit at all. I expect we'll eventually have to start carrying our identification papers if he stays in office.

    Or... Try not to break the law. Wouldn't want ya to have an uncomfortable time in jail.

    With all of the furor over the Patriot Act a truly scary bill that expands the rights of corporations at the expense of individuals was quietly introduced into congress in October.

    I wish people would actually spend enough time to educate themselves about our laws, instead of having knee-jerk reactions to them. The Patriot Act has absolutely NOTHING to do with corporation rights vs. individual rights.

    I work at a USGS mapping center, and about 75% of us programmers use Linux almost exclusively. The IT department also has quite a few linux servers running too.

    The real influx of Linux is due to the hiring of university students. Push Linux in the schools, and it'll end up in businesses and the gov.
