BTW -- Manhattan KS is *not* the most economical place to live. Have 2 stepsons up yonder. Just like any other major university town, prices can be gouge-normous.
Nonprofit is just a tax status - they play by the same rules as business on just about everything else
True. The AARP, for example is a not for profit organization. However they also have a very strong marketing department. Even though they do not own the companies they market for (insurance, auto club, etc.) they seem to have quite a few business partnerships when it comes marketing to the senior segment.
Also, please expand on the 3:1 people-to-bedroom ratio.
I think (hope) the reference was to the bathrooms. However, when I was living at home, there were 3 children assigned to a bedroom. BTW, the bathroom ratio was 4:1.
A politician is nothing more than an empty suit that travels from fundraiser to fundraiser.
I learned the politician definition a bit differently. Break it into two parts. 'Poli' - meaning multiple, and 'tics' - meaning blood sucking, hard to get rid of little critters. Of course the 'ian' is the practice of...
Some people must feel very smart finding those gas stations. How much gas they waste getting to them might be interesting to compute also.
Not to mention how much fuel gets burned while the smart motorist is waiting in line 4 or 5 deep, which is usually the case in my neck of the woods. It might be cheaper overall to hit the *near empty* fuel outlet across the street where the prices may be 1 or 2 cents more per gallon.
Plus as a side effect, the motorist get to participate in the other great American past-time -- instant gratification.
--- I like to ask folks who are rigid about sticking with MS Office what features they use and/or in their minds really make MS Office stand out. Normally there's not much of a response beyond things along the lines of "it's what I'm used to", "I can open documents other people send me", etc.
I use MS Office for school work. OpenOffice does not have a grammar checker as of yet. Not that MSO's is perfect, however I have a reasonable chance of my papers being grammatically correct. For all else I use OO.o whenever possible, both at home and work. It mainly depends on who the recipient is.
Would be really novel if mob buying would work at the college bookstore. Take your pick of scale - lin or log - pads, pens, pencils are free compared to the texts.
Being a jolly Wal-Mart shopping grandparent, Starbuck's is one of the last places you'll find my tail. Another 2 bits to the coffee fund. Ka-ching, Ka-ching.
Would be a good experiment.
After trying the feminine smiling eyes, I think trying the 'ever watchful, tired, "Mom"' eyes may prove to be more effective.
Tornado clean-up?

If the sheep are not happy maybe the rancher needs better programming to keep herd together through the commercials.

No, never been. Understand it is a tad expensive to live there.

Ummm, I may be getting old, but this scenario seems a bit extreme just to get a free cup of Starbucks.
Just speculation, one would think the banks do not want to find themselves looking at conditions as they were in the 'full' regulation days.
