My assumption is that the game will be either a total failure -or- (I like this outlook better) hacked to the point where it becomes a FPS and you are the pirate. Or maybe it could morph into a Doom-like game, but instead of floating skulls, there are floating heads of the leaders of the RIAA.
What about a counter-strike like version of it (note that I do not say counter-strike mod, because counter-strike is really a mod). Instead of Counter-Terrorists vs Terrorists, it is RIAA vs Normal People?
The more teachers that overcrowded high schools can get, the smaller the class sizes. Smaller class sizes are not only more comfortable, but they are proven to be better learning environments. Computers are good, I agree, but teaching jobs shouldnt be lost for them. If it were a perfect world, people and companys would donate more computers to public schools.
I am an example of going to schools (primary schools) that did not have computers. I had great teachers, and by middle school, I was programming and the student IT manager. I too am a senior in high school, and currently installing Linux (for the first time) on an old box I found in someones trash (a '98 IBM, everything intact luckily). I believe that if I hadn't had teachers, live people teaching me, then I wouldn't have time or ability for computer stuff. That is why I say that computers are good, but not at the cost of teachers.
To a point, computers in the schools are good. But if it means laying off teachers, then computers become a hinderence. In my opinion, a good teacher is worth a hundred CRAYs.
Oddly enough, you are still responsable for what is on your computer, even if you didnt put it there. You are responsable for what your computer does, even if you didnt do it. The only way out of it is to find the person who did and convict them, otherwise, you are guilty.
The deal here is that the RIAA could do this better without screwing the customer. Independent record labels have done brillently and they arent suing adolescents for downloading a song. I donno, you have some points, but I think the RIAA is definitly abusing its power.
Unfortunatly, claiming ignorance is no excuse for breaking a law. And the RIAA probably wouldnt believe a 3 year old claiming ignorance because of their (the RIAA, not the 3 year old) greed.
I agree with Mr. Tim. Murder and assassinations only help to martyr the organization and give them sympathy points in court. Plus, then the RIAA could claim that people who download illegal MP3s are dangerous and insane. I dont want that.
You would think that an organization of, well, music companies would have something better to do than attack individual users for a crime that doesnt really matter. Honestly, shouldn't they be working on techniques to lower the cost of CDs so people, you know, start buying them again? Damn, but the RIAA really pisses me off, which I am sure is a sediment of many here in/. .
I think that this can be a front to get some of his "helpful" technology out there. My prediction is that he will say that the FBI will put some new filters in everyone's computer and then use that to spy on people even more. I dont think this guy has the capasity to do good if it isnt a cover for some scheme.

Well, that is the info that i saw
You mean it hurts your eyes? If you say it, it sounds the same :D.
Here here!

somehow i think that they wont stop at evil hackers.
I very much agree. Too much interest or faith in the space program has been lost recently.
I believe it is close to that. Not really orbit, but high enough to profit on the speed.
Hell, Korea has computer games televised. Japan does too. Spectating videogames seems to have caught on there, why not here?
that is the law. look it up.

Heh, it had to be one of those words....
damn, did i spell it wrong?

Their "compassion" for the little man? Their "sympathy?" Do I sound sarcastic enough or should I use italics?

I worry about them going more after the honest 'white hats,' because the real criminals are harder to catch. Time will tell, I guess.

actually, the danger is not in removing an atmosphere, the danger is that the center of gravity or orbit is offset.
If the Space Elevator (a project I truely believe in) is completed, then the mineral harvest could be brought down to earth cheaply and effeciently.
A agree with you completely that NASA, especially in the cold war era, was the most fruitful organization in America, even the whole bloody planet.
