but it gives room for some interesting possibilities
No, it doesn't. Even if there are interesting quantum effects going on within the brain, they cannot be over the large distances between two brains, because of quantum decoherence.
already does this. See here, under "Application Access: You Decide". You can set up another user account for yourself (not just any children) which would be protected. I'm pretty sure Windows has similar things (not sure if you need 3rd party software to do this) and as mentioned, there are live CDs of Linux/BSD/etc.
If we don't have a First past the post system then what do you call it?
Preferential voting in the lower house. First past the post is where the person with the most number of votes (even if less than 50%) wins. And it's different again in the upper house.;)
There was no complaint made by the female housemate in question. Whether or not it was acceptable or not we do not know (that's between the housemates themselves).
Well, I heard an excerpt on the radio where she wasn't entirely impressed with their actions but didn't want to make anything official.
However, the "crazy bitch" in question is not the housemate who was "assaulted" (she claims it was all in fun - big brother stepped in without her complaining) - i believe the GP post is referring to our Communications minister, Helen Coonan... she "didn't get her way" in "getting the show off the air"...
Well, then those aren't the words I'd use, but I don't think highly of our Communications minister or the government in general.
Crazy bitch didn't get her way, so now she's sucking her thumb and stamping her feet.
Huh? She had a penis shoved in her face, complained about it, only wanted an apology, didn't press charges, and then other people want streaming video to be regulated. How does this make her a "crazy bitch" who "didn't get her way" and is "sucking her thumb and stamping her feet"? I'd say she's dealt with those idiots in a appropriate way. Pity you seem to have stooped to their level.
Kid: Dad, why did they build the Great Wall of China?
Dad: Umm, that was in the time of Emperor Nasi Goreng. They, um, built it to keep the rabbits out. Yeah, big rabbit problem in China.
Kid: [looks out car window in awe of his fathers knowledge]
[Cut to a classroom scene] Teacher: And now Billy will present his talk on China.
(TV ad from Australia. It probably is a little bit more humourous if you know that they built a "rabbit proof fence" for thousands of miles in parts of Australia to keep out the rabbits).
I get 11Mbps/1Mbps ADSL2+ where I live, and there are a lot of people who get close to the theoretical max of 24Mbps ADSL2+. For about US$45/month too. In other words, his fiber connection is slower than good old copper.
It makes no difference. IANAL and IANA but under Australian law, a company operating in Australias has to abide by Australian law in its Australian operations, and I imagine it would be the same s/Australia/America/g
US law only applies within the US. If companies from other countries want to play in the US then they have to abide by US laws, etc. This has no bearing on what companies in other countries do in their respective countries.
Not watching TV or living in the US, I have no idea what the GoDaddy girl looks like. But I wish to subscribe to your theory on the basis that she's good looking. There is one very important question to be asked before she goes to Congress however: does she have a blue dress?
Admittedly I don't work for a big firm, I have about 35 users split across two businesses. The reason why we'll still with XP as long as possible boil down to cost, and also the fact that we're working with an OS where we know the ins and outs, and the companies that supply us with (groan) Windows software also want to target a relatively stable, well known platform too. It took us a long time before their software was XP ready. The GUI in MS Windows is a relative non-issue as it's stable enough for most users across upgrades. I'm getting people to use OS X for their home use (email, web apps, basic Office stuff, photos, etc.) because OS X gives a reasonably secure, easy to use system.. the iLife apps rock. The servers we'll stick to a mix of FreeBSD and Windows 2003 SBS (unfortunately no choice on the latter). Best tool for the best job.;)
The services may be free but they increase revenues from advertising, what's at issue here is not Google's ability to make revenue or generate growth (they've been doing both fine) but that they need to be more honest and open in the marketplace for the market to do its job.

we have first past the post electoral system here
No we don't. I should also point out that Australia is a democracy, and of those voting there are of course people who didn't vote for the government.

I think Dell well end up as a Real Doll.
You've obviously been smoking something else if you don't know there's a difference between methanol and menthol.
Why do I get this bad feeling the "OMG! Ponies!" meme will be with us for a long while here in Soviet Russia...
the English language cannot possibly express how amazingly incredible the next massively multiplayer game from Blizzard is going to be

You could have RTFC. It's distributed under the creative commons license.

I just realised the author is a chick. If you're reading this Solveig Haugland, ignore my parent post and go out with me.
Sorry, but she's already seen this post of yours.
