Openoffice had its day in the sun (no pun intended) but its days are numbered. Overall, the package is slow and bloated and the reports from Office 2007 say that it is still quick even with all that bloated GUI crap (i.e. The Ribbon). OO is incredibly slow in loading and in use without all the functionality of Office and non of the GUI.
While Openoffice isn't noticably slow for me (just takes a lot memory), what other FREE office suite that is comparable that you know of?

We all know IRC is an excellent target for tapping.
So is e-mail, aim, icq, msn, jabber, HTTP, ftp...
I wonder if some large networks thought about allowing SSL only clients and get "warned" by some guys not to do it.
The end conclusion was that the encryption gave too heavy loads on large IRC networks. Which is why it's often seen only on smaller IRC networks.

SIRC still wouldn't of stopped someone getting into a weak O-line.

I think the most important point to be made is that IRC is shite, and we should all have moved to Jabber years ago. :)
    • Jabber is a Instant Messaging protocol.
    • When you're on a ISP that makes you pay per KB you send (often the case when you're on GPRS), you're better off using IRC as it's far less bandwith intensive.
    • Administration on Jabber systems is a lot harder for most than on IRC.
    • I'm also not aware of any Jabber clients which will automatically join 'conferences rooms'.

    • A IRC connection in a SSH tunnel wouldn't of helped this.
    • There are no tools I'm aware of that you can use to set global akills, modify services databases in real time, or do much of any IRCd/services modifications in real time like you can on IRC, from a bash prompt.

Microsoft should look out because ReactOS is planning for EXT2/EXT3/JFS file system support
Oh no!? They're going to support a FS used by Linux users! Will our existing users cope with this!?
Once it adds Windows driver support
ReactOS already supports windows drivers partially.
it might steal some thunder from Microsoft Windows and Vista, if it runs on systems that Vista won't run on.
It might not, since people will be using the OS that their system came with usually.

Why? Because you're buying non-DRM'd mp3s. I've looked up all of mp3's practices. They're not using any 'loop holes', like people claim in the law.

The fact that you're actively funding criminal activity by doing it makes buying from allofmp3.com slightly worse than just pirating the music outright.

Use Firefox or Opera to buy music.

There is some software you can use (combined with VLC) to decrypt Apple's DRM files into raw AAC streams, and stick them into .mp4 containers.

However, why would you want to buy from iTunes when you can buy unencrypted (no DRM) high quality files from All of mp3? Which can come in higher quality.
