  1. Was that a documentary or an Advert for Quake? on Trailer For First Person Shooter Documentary · · Score: 1
I mean was it really necesarry to show all those screen shots? You can tell who's pulling the strings on this one...

Initial verdict: Boring, lots of stuff a gamer already knows and possibly a good interview or two (in comparison to the 8-14 crappy interviews)

I've been living in Edmonton since 1984 and IMHO it is one of the best places to live anywhere by far. Here are some reasons to live in Edmonton:

    • Great Sports Teams:
      • Edmonton Oilers (where Gretz and Mess got their start)
      • The Edmonton Eskimos (an entertaining CFL team)
      • The Edmonton Trappers (yes, we play baseball here too)
      • The Edmonton Drillers (good for soccer fans)
    • Cultural Events:
      • The Edmonton Fringe (the largest fringe theatre festival in North America!)
      • Edmonton Jazz Festival
      • Edmonton Folk Fest
      • Plus a myriad of other events (Blues Fest, Animethon, etc, etc...)

We also have a growing IT community and plenty of opportunity for developers (eveything from Government Mainframe work to Web Development!)

Basically I'm proud to be an Edmontonian

P.S. For Edmontonians who are reading this I bet you didn't know that Whyte Ave has its own website, someone sent me this link a while ago, there isn't much there but it's kind of cool anyway.

We in Canada (unlike the U.S.) do NOT have the right to free speech, the Federal Government regulates what we can or cannot say, so leaked information against this Database (for the government) has merely been an 'annoyance' to some and a political gain for others. Never mind that it is 'we' the Canadian people who have our most private financial information available to almost any government agentcy.

The part that gets me is that chances are EVERY industrialized nation has a database of this sort buried somewhere in its innards, but thanks to the general stupidity of our own government, now this is public information.

Anyway, I chose to be one of those 'computer guys' early on in high school. To get the grades I needed for college I worked hard in school and didn't have much of a social life (other than drinking beer & watching hockey or anime with the guys).

When I finally got to college it was nothing but work (for me at least, but then, I got a good diploma now didn't I). It seemed like the single girls had no time at all for me and the only ones who ever wanted to talk were the married ones (something that still happens to this day).

Now I'm out int (see I cant even type "in" anymore) the world of work and making money you'd think I'd have time for a relationship. Well, lets see, I've been conditioning myself since 1994 to be antisocial, half the time I spend not working is spent doing research for working. Everyone but me is connected already (if you know what I mean) and I am left alone to rot with my books and my computer.

So where am I going with this? To be honest I don't know. I'm a sensitive hard working human who never gets a break when it comes to girls. I'm 22 and life (what life) sux.

Thank you for reading this rant (if you got this far), if you are wondering what I look like (once I was told I look like an 'ogre' you can check me out at my website).
