  1. THANK YOU Senator Dodd on Dodd's Filibuster Threat Stalls Wiretap Bill · · Score: 0

For being the ONLY Democratic Presidential candidate to take the time to show up in Washington to stop this insanity (or at least give more time to get RID of the retroactive immunity for the telcos who broke laws when spying on US citizens).. I'm not sure what they rest of the Dems are smoking but a whole HECK of a lot f the voted YES to pass this bill.

Loved TechTV when it first came out.. Had it in my channel lineup until ComCrap took it out.. I loved watch ScreenSavers (Leo and Patrick).. Was kinda happy when I found out it was coming back (G4TechTV) but then found out how badly ComCrap could screw up a wet dream..

I used to record ScreenSavers on my Tivo.. It's gotten so incredibly bad (recently) that I took it ouf of my SeasonPass manager and gave it three thumbs down.. I don't ever want to see the show again..

It'd SURE BE NICE if Leo and Patrick and perhaps some others from the old TechTV crew could get together and start something else up...

  3. Re:The Daily Show on Fahrenheit 9/11 Discussion · · Score: 0

It's a sad day for our country indeed where one of the few opposing points of view (from the administration) is delivered on a comedic daily news show (then again, Bush gives him plenty of material. Though, John Stewart has no problems attacking the left). Granted there's been more negative media coverage since the Iraqi prison abuses. However, the majority of the crap is often (conveniently) ignored or overlooked (and the Iraqi prison abuses has conveniently drifted out of the media's attention)... BTW, this is the exact reason why huge corporations should be prevented from controlling large portions of the media outlets in areas.. It's easier for the devil to make deals with the few than the many..

Why don't you do some more research on the Internet with respect to what Michael Moore presents in his movie? Or try watching Now with Bill Moyers on PBS.. or Frontline on PBS..

In fact, Michael Moore doesn't cover half of the crap that is going on within our country with the current administration..

Come on man, go beyond the FOX NETWORK NEWS.. I know it requires more work and effort but it's worth it.

  4. Saw the movie.. Dragged some friends along.. on Fahrenheit 9/11 Discussion · · Score: 0

I loved the movie. It's moved into the spotlight a subject that has been hidden from the public by the majority of the news media. In fact, if you wanted to get the OTHER side of the "fox news" tainted media, you have very few outlets. One that is very good is http://www.airamericaradio.com. In fact, my personal favorite show is Randi Rhodes between 3-7 p.m. ET. it is syndicated as well as streamed over the Internet. No, I do not work and am not affiliated with AAR, however, I am very THANKFUL they're around. Randi is extremely different talk radio host than those on the right in that she won't go off on ANYTHING until she (or her team) does the research and has the facts (documents, links to articles, etc) which you can usually find on her own website.

Back to the movie... I dragged my father and some of my friends who are on the right (who I've been discussing many of these issues with for quite some time now but to no avail. It can be very difficult to get some people to do the research and go beyond just what they get on the news on TV or what they want to believe).. I must admit that a picture certainly helps a bunch. I've at least opened their eyes (for the moment).. My Dad is finally opening his eyes to some of what I've been telling him for over a year now.. It's a start.. I couldn't do it prior to this..

I'd recommend that anyone going to see this movie attempt to drag a few friends/family along with them who don't necessarily share their views. Not that everyone will be swayed, but hopefully it will give a few something more to think about. I'm certainly not taking Michael Moore's POV as fact that shouldn't be investigated further. In fact, more investigation into what is presented by the movie should be encouraged. I'd imagine Michael Moore would feel proud if his movie inspires a few more people to do their own research beyond the major media outlets right-wing twist..

Plus, TechTV personalities had(have?) no problems saying what's on their minds (about Microsoft, Comcast, etc). Why ever would we want that. We need Comcast to come along and make sure that what they say is censored to portray a beautiful, rose-colored reality. A sort of FOX NEWSish style atmosphere.

    "Microsoft is good for you.."

    "Comcast is not a monopoly.."

  6. Okay, here's the fix... on How India is Saving Capitalism · · Score: 0
I'm a bit confused on this myself. It sounds to me as if the solution might be to send anyone who is not upper management (since what they say goes) or a service type of some kind (where their skills are needed in the US) and send them over to India or China to get jobs from American companies at wages they can live like royalty on. This way, we can keep the US for just the Aristocrat.. How insulting it must have been for this deserving class to have to sit by and watch others actually enjoy the benefits of extra money (imagine how awkward it would be to have someone in a lesser class have the same automobile or be able to join the same country club)..

Perhaps somewhere along the way a law can be put into place which will require you to make a certain amount of money (or have a service job) in order to be a citizen living in the US.

Let's also not forget that this trend of outsourcing occurred just around the time the corporate scumbags got caught lying to their investors. A big chunk of this outsourcing is, I believe, another scheme for them to justify their own MAJORLY inflated salaries/bonuses/etc.. Why isn't CEO (and other senior exec) compensation linked directly to their companies performance?? It should also be capped at a certain amount.. It's just a JOB and I'd argue one that, in most cases, does less than a good many of its other employees (the hardest part of it being justification of one's own salary and existence)..

[sarcasm] Yeah, after all, who'd have thought to build wireless technology into a laptop/notebook before Centrino?? [/sarcasm]

Granted, Apple may have been first to push 802.11 wireless technology out to the consumer market (at least a year ahead of the PC Notebook makers). However, way before Centrino was a thought @ Intel, PC Notebook makers were already shipping notebooks with integrated wireless access (which conformed to standards).. And I don't understand the whole "Centrino certified" or "Intel certified" WiFi spot.. Isn't that what the friggin' standards are for?? (802.11 a/b/g).. What tickles me is how long it is taking them (perhaps they are there already?) to get to 802.11g.. I guess it's all marketing..

Of course, that could just be the OS that's used.. However, the version of OS X on the Virginia tech is no where near tuned to take advantage of the G5 chips (those optimizations are expected in OS X 10.4)..

Whatever.. Go back to collecting your money at your outsourcing firm (while displacing US workers)..

Let India work on its own economy and technology within its OWN country. After all, should be a breeze with all those "best technical minds" you've got out there..

The most I've seen out of India are a bunch of cheaters, and blown up ego's (with not much substance).. Especially during my college stay where you'd ALWAYS find the Indian students cheating on the exams or where you'd find ONE of them doing a project and sharing it with the rest of the Indian population at the college (or worse yet, rummaging through other student home directories looking for a finished project.). Not to say others don't cheat, but I couldn't BELIEVE how rampant it was within the Indian community.. And it does bother me because I >>DID study and then I would be compared to the test scores of students who had the answers written down..

Perhaps there's a difference between the Indians in the US and those in India. But, considering those in the US, I'm not impressed at all..

Hey, want to save a bundle, outsource the upper management jobs as well as the board of directors. After all, any dip-shit can collect loads of money while screwing over share-holders and consumers (as well as employees).. Perhaps we can make the pain of their sodomizing a little more bearable if we pay them 2.5%-5% of what they get here in US..
