Its doubtful that anyone will hack into any of those closed systems for the most part. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see mediadefender start getting nailed VERY hard bandwidth wise. I wonder how many syn packets or christmas tree packets it takes to fill up a 9gbps pipe?
Hopefully this garners enough attention for something to be done. Its doubtful, but I really, really hope so. Mediadefender == pinkerton thugs of the new millenia.
Not to mention any discovery in this matter can and WILL be used by states who are currently investigating mediadefender for performing investigations without proper licensing.
Exactly. I highly doubt R3 would have contacted the FBI if they were hosting illegal content. They use bittorrent as a method of distrobution for legal content.
OMGLAWYERSUESUESUE!
Seriously, I hope they get even more crucified because of this. Performing a DOS is a clear violation of law in all states, and since it crosses the borders, its a clear felony.
Actually, the insurgents can't attack us in our back yard, because if they did, they wouldn't be insurgents. An insurgent attacks the established authority of their government, and according to the US the government of Iraq is their established governance. If a bunch of rednecks attacked the white house, they'd be insurgents. Iraqis attacking the white house would be an act of war. Lrn2websters.
Batteries at lower temperatures tend to have longer lives, don't they? I know on most rechargables you can toss the battery into a freezer to grow the primer charge enough for it to actually charge on a charger. Or am I wrong?
If you're bouncing through proxies its best to use at least two, preferably based in competing companies (companies in competition are unlikely to cooperate with one another), or two warring nations (Israel and Palastine are great choices).
Just sayin.
Without the good voice actor, the video game gets bad ratings and often gets undersold. Read gamespot reviews, or ign reviews, and one of the first things they often nail a game for is bad voice acting, or heap praise for believable voice acting.
I have to agree. Sports stars do what.. play with their balls for a few hours and then treat their public like crap? Movie stars do cocaine. Musicians drive around in gold plated limos. The only real branch of entertainment that doesn't get its due is video games. Seriously though, why should a voice actor for an animated movie get royalties, and then a voice actor for a video game not get anything? They both deserve their due. However, I also think the programmers and everyone else involved deserves some kind of royalty, considering they ALL busted their humps to release a masterpiece such as GTA4.
For fun, go to a local mall and turn on a wifi sniffer of your choice. Our local podunk mall had no less than 30 unsecured wireless networks, almost all for stores which held servers with financial data. And thats what I found with a smartphone using totalcommander and wififofum.
Its only bad because it hurts businesses, thats about it. Look how many public WiFi proposals get shot down on a regular basis. As for why its bad to leave it unsecured, Congress has basically decided that if you leave an access point unsecured and someone uses it to download kiddy porn, or talk to their 'terrorist' buddies overseas, you are guilty as an accomplice because, "you should know better."
More great legislation brought to us by a bunch of old WASPs and a few overzealous soccer moms.
At my high school all computers had folding@home installed. Usually there is little strife from layer-8 types because the machines aren't doing anything during that time anyways, and a decent marketing department can spin it as some awesome PR.
At the very least if you have install rights on your machine you can run the client on your workstation.
So, if you have a hybrid chip, why not put it on a motherboard with a slot for a nice nvidia card. Then you'll get all the raytracing goodness from intel, plus the joyful rasterbation of nvidia's finest offerings. The word "coprocessor" exists for a reason. Or am I missing something here?

Yup, just like every single contractor on the second death star - every mediadefender employee knows what they're doing. F*ck 'em.

Agreed, it is a true testament to the power of stupid people in large numbers - or at least their ability to keep their heads in the sand.
The rulers themselves do not reflect well on the fitness of the rulers to rule.

I had this very idea a few days ago when paypal put two 40 cent payments in my checking account. Thank god I didn't go with it, eh?

Made me guffaw, titter, and rofl all at once! One less source of corruption in the world!
So, it makes one wonder what other great secrets lie in wait in the Amazon - if we could get the bastards to stop destroying it.

Those buckyballs and nanotubes, what can't they do!? I mean, they don't just fight cancer. They can cause cancer too!

Sadly only a handful ever progress past that point.
Soon, they'll start injecting SQL too to help map databases! Google is so useful indeed! :)

Because amazingly paper ballots leave these things called 'paper trails.' Electronic voting, on the other hand, tends to be very lax in that capacity.
