  1. My survey response on The Future of RPN Calculators · · Score: -1, Troll

What feature would I like most on an RPN calculator? Infix notation!

Seriously, why are we worried about the "future" of inconvenient input formats? Why not worry about more important things, like phonographs and MS-DOS?

  2. Try something funny instead. on PC Case For Hamsters, EZ Bake Oven in a Drive Bay · · Score: -1, Troll

If you're going to keep posting April Fools' jokes, you might as well do something funny, like GNAA Reports 3rd quarter profits of $200 million, brought to you from Slashdot's own site. Can't we mod trolls up on just one day in 365? (Actually, it's 366 this year...)

  3. Easy workaround on Video-Game Publishers Outsource Development · · Score: 1

If the shareholders benefit so much from all the outsourcing, why don't we all buy stock in programming-related industries? Not only would we benefit from the outsourcing itself, but the Slashdot effect would drive stock prices sky-high!

  4. This isn't new! on Contour Crafting - Extrude-a-House · · Score: 2, Interesting

EBTX had this idea a long, long time ago:

True, this guy didn't actually have the materials in mind, but we ought to give him credit for coming up with it first.

  5. Re:Gravity? on Rosetta, the Comet Hunter · · Score: 5, Informative

From Rosetta's webpage: The relative speeds of the spacecraft and comet will gradually be reduced, slowing to 2 metres per second after about 90 days. If it moves slowly enough, the comet's weak gravity can hold it in.

  6. Simpler formula on Finding the Perfect Family Game · · Score: 5, Insightful

I notice that most of those factors are vaguely defined at best... "Fun factor?" Get real! As long as we're pulling qualitative numbers out of the air, why not design a simpler system? Perfect Family Game = 1.0g, where "g" is the "goodness level." Practical, huh?
