  2. Apple and Javax on State of the OpenJDK Project and Java 7 · · Score: 1

One more area Apple has been neglected in the Java world is access to Core Audio. The limited support it used to have is now deprecated with no cross-platform replacement. I'm mainly interested in Core Audio Midi access from a web applet, and there are some third party (Plumstone/Mandolin, MMJ) jars/jnilibs which help, but have their own problems. Is there any other cross-platform web based technology to access midi? Flash perhaps?

Chuck Moore is designing a chip for a new firm called Async Array Devices. It is probably a variant of the 25x.

They are supposed to announce the chip at a microprocessor conference in April.

It appears the new chip will not be available for general purchase. They don't won't to be in the chip sales business, just provide solutions.

I suspect that http://enumera.com/ is behind this new company.

  5. No middle ground on What Should a Documentary Filmmaker Ask About Offshoring? · · Score: 1

Hello, My brother is high up in the IT department of a fortune 500 company. Every six months, he gets a bonus and a threat that his job may be offshored. He would gladly give up the bonus and even take a cut in salary if he could be offered some stability in keeping his job. Why are U.S. workers not given the opportunity to compete with offshore workers? I know we can't match cost, but we can certainly lower costs and offer other benefits that offshore workers can't. Thanks
