I recently read that the German Wikipedia is planning on releasing a 100 volume set of its encyclopedia. Are there any plans to create a print and DVD version of the English Wikipedia and how is it coming along? Expected release date?
I agree. Azureus takes way too many resources. BitComet.61, which fixed the leeching bit, is nice and feature rich. Personally, I prefer uTorrent and Azureus if I'm using Linux. All three are great, though.
How about GMail? Google Maps? Completely new and innovative. Google Desktop search, although not the first, popularized it and forced MS to come out with one.
They could also say, "hey this looks like XP, but it does this differently... hmm.. I kinda like this better. Sweet!"
For Gnome, you say a user might say, "it looks way different, so I can understand how it acts differently." However, many new users to OS X still make comparisons and are annoyed with its differences to XP. You just don't know how a new user might react. Period.
For those who haven't heard of Harvey Danger, they're a mid-90s rock band and their hit song was "Flagpole Sitta". I applaude them for doing this, because they're not exactly a no-name band.
Has anyone seen its market share in Europe. They're staggering! Many countries have over 30%! With Opera becoming free, IE's share may drop below 80% which is still a lot, but considerably less than the 95+% they had before.
I'm not sure gamers want something revolutionary. Just look at PS2 and Xbox. They've outsold Gamecube by a large margin in the US. They are considered cooler simply because of their titles (resulting from excellent third-party support). Xbox isn't revolutionary. However, that's not to say that it has not done anything in the industry. With their Xbox Live, killer titles such as Halo 2, and better graphics, it is easily surpassing the Gamecube.
This will be their third attempt, after N64 and Gamecube where weren't as successful as anticipated. I strongly feel that if they fail to succeed overwhelmingly with the "Revolution", they will ultimately strike out in the console race.
There is a great difference between television and video games. Video games are much more interactive. You control this guy who commits murder and theft for a living. These games have a much greater effect on the player than watching a show or the news.
Lastly, video games are still the main focus of teenage guys (pre-18), which is where the main problem lies.

Wikipedia 1.0 FAQ - answers, well, frequently asked questions!
Wikipedia:Release VersionThe next version with an incomplete list of proposed articles.
Talk page for WP 1.0 - please leave your feedback here. What did you like about it? What can be improved?
This is true, which is why there is an ongoing proposal to incorporate stable versions, which would basically freeze a specific revision. See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Stable_vers ions/
It's well-referenced, that's how.

Whatever they choose to use, it'll be hacked to bits. Literally.

"it looks just like XP, why can't it act like XP"

Will we be seeing Ubuntu booting up in a few seconds, instead of a minute? I can only hope.

It's nearly impossible to navigate 20 GB of mp3s on any mp3 player, let alone 40 GB.
