The guy was only reiterating that the mark given was a target... which the article itself even says so any marginally intelligent person (read: not a monkey) would be able to decifer this amazingly cryptic usage of the word 'target'.
I'd say its pretty fair to argue that its not the designers and the programmers who have a say in what gets funded and published, granted i can see developing new and inovative ways to use the wiimote seems very fun and refreshing. As far as physics and graphics , I still think there is a lot to be had in that area I think in this generation we'll see a wider variety of animations and animations that are more lifelike with facial and muscle movements that are visible and that convey emotion and feeling. Its not just about feeling the game in your hand its also about feeling for the caracters in the game. A great example would be the Heavy Rain demo at e3. But thats just my 2 cents.
To be fair it can also argued that a decent chunk of development cost can and will go into R&D regarding usage and application of a new interface device. Finding out what ways people will enjoy them the most and feel most comfortable with requires targeted research which costs money, and depending on how well you want it studied could also take time. Just food for thought.
XSL. It is pretty much a patent on XSL. I've begun working with it, and it pretty much is a script put into XML format. Quite a nice little technology too.
I've heard many people say 'well, if you'd switch to mac or linux you wouldn't have this problem.' If one person switches to another OS, they still have to deal with the crap that gets written for windows, because like it or not since the majority is windows, and if its a virus that generates massive amounts of web traffic we all have to put up with it. We all have to deal with the slow downs and the downed servers, not that microsoft's website being down is that great of a loss. At least untill you're a network admin and need information on something critical and can't get to their knowledge base. And if that wern't enough, there are other results of this. It makes the internet look unsafe, and a place that needs outside control. I personally would hate to see more laws and acts then we already have designed to make the internet more 'secure'. Acts set in place to regulate the internet itself, or even more frightening, acts set in place on software makers. Every single new virus that comes out, is a potential launching point for so called Trusted Computing. Because, like it or not, holding the software company responsible for its customers not updating their sofware is stupid. Not saying that Microsoft shouldn't be held responsible for their excuse for a decent OS, but its not like they aren't at least making patches and fixes for the problems found... slowly, yes... but at least they are released. And I, while not enjoying Microsoft's software, have to use Windows for certain things, and am glad they are finally taking care of the problems they have. But am completly pissed the hell off at their supposed Trusted Computing, an evil that must be stopped.
On another note, has anyone noticed an in crease in DNS downage? I've had a few people tell me about problems, that when eventually looked into, were because of downed DNS servers. Possibly a result of MyDoom and Co.?
It might just be me, but I sure as hell remember reading an article about breakthroughs of this type, maybe a little too close, last august or september. Anyone else remember seeing that? I will note that I do not remember reading anything about Intel being involved with it.
Personally, I'm a fan of half-life and its resulting mods, but when it comes to cheating, the best of them are the sorta popular ones, but not too popular. My favorite being The Specialists. A matrix like game, designed for players to be just as effective at killing their opponents with dual SOCOMS as with an AK...Black trench coat not included.
Wonder If I could do that for my phone? Or charge people $ to access my voice mail, since I never answer the phone and just let it go right to voice mail...I bet Bill has this locked away in his file of "super super evil plans."

i'd like to see the legal definition of a scripting language. the ability to do if then calls seems close enough to me.

Ahh. Thanks.

I wouldn't doubt that he keeps 1/2 of the bucket around for his 'sinus' problems.
Whats next? my prediction.... FUD busting paint. //we could paint darl's house and sing kumbaya around durring a candle light vigil.
How about an "All your source code are belong to us" flash animation? I think that would make up for SCO's lost publicity.
If they did, SCO'd have my vote for the award. Darl & Co for fantasy & science fiction author of the year!
