    How is perl's syntax complicated?

Sure, its easy to for one to write horrendous code, but its just as easy to obfuscate code in C/C++.

Other than the regexp's perl's syntax is quite simple, and I believe anyone who knows a bit of C/C++ should have no major problems adapting to it.

And I fail to see how the libraries are a problem in perl. Actually, its the other way around, CPAN is an impressive effort, and if there's a language where it is easy to find and use libraries for whatever purpose, it is perl.

Trolling is an interesting phenomenon. I wonder if there are any research papers on the subject. Perhaps you know where I can find some information on the subject?

Precisely what I thought. But the question now is: did they miscalculated the amount of pages they'd end up indexing? Or was it something they accepted for performance considerations? And are they now in the process of upgrading perhaps?

Try watching Seikai no Senki (Battleflag of the Stars) for one of the greatest battles ever created (read: animated). Yeah, its an anime, but that doesn't make it any less good. Please note that this is an 11 episodes show for a single battle. No CG on this one. If you want some kewl speedy action with lots of ships in CG (though not nearly as impressive as Seikai no Senki) try watching Vandread 1st and 2nd Stage (two series, 13 episodes each).

Its not really a matter of tryin' to force people into using the GPL. This is done to avoid things like this: from: http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/bsd.html "When people put many such programs together in an operating system, the result is a serious problem. Imagine if a software system required 75 different sentences, each one naming a different author or group of authors. To advertise that, you would need a full-page ad. This might seem like extrapolation ad absurdum, but it is actual fact. NetBSD comes with a long list of different sentences, required by the various licenses for parts of the system. In a 1997 version of NetBSD, I counted 75 of these sentences. I would not be surprised if the list has grown by now. " There are other reasons, but this one is good enough to justify the clause. The FSF has a bit of a problem because of its amazingly idealist vision. From what I could tell, Richard Stallman has fully embraced that vision...its truly amazing. ^_^ Anyways, there are plenty of licenses out ther that are neither GPL nor bring problems with it.
