  1. Packrat mentality on Digital Packrats · · Score: 5, Interesting

I used to collect everything, mostly books and cds and videos and such. Now my packrattedness(is that a word?) has transtlated to the digital word, My 1.2 TB of space is for collecting as much digital crap as humanly possible, mostly out of some sort of obsession, I don't think I watch/listen/read 75% of what i download. I figure somewhere down the line someone will want one of the various things i have. Also its kind of like a time capsule, with a wide variety of genres, books/music/movies/tv/games.

  2. Re:How come.. on Music Downloading not Entirely to Blame · · Score: 1

HAH! Expect a bit too much? Perhaps you are unaware of the way things used to be, or perhaps you are satisfied waiting 4 years for that new Red Hot Chili Peppers. Bands back in the day used to whip off albums as fast as possible KNOWING that popularity was fleeting and that the public was fickle. The Beatles for their entire career (7 years of album making) put out at LEAST 2 albums a year. If you dont expect much, anything more exceeds your expectations.

  3. errors in headlines on Have a Nice Steaming Cup of Java 5 · · Score: 1

not to disparage the great posters on the main page. Is it just me, or have there been a lot of GLARING mistakes in headlines. Not to be cruel or anything, but the headline should be the first to be proofread. I havent noticed anything glaring in the post itself. "new Tecord" "Steaming cup of Java "5"

  4. DETAILS DETAILS DETAILS on Is Windows Worth $45? · · Score: 1

it was a nice WSJ style piece, which like their radio show in the morning, has lots of fluff and not much substance. I'd like to see an article written detailing the actual 'advances' (or lack thereof) that have been made since Windows 1.0. The article was smartly written, but I didnt expect it to end as quickly as it did.
