But your feature phone calendar didn't sync. Couldn't be shared to your wife's phone. Couldn't be updated on a web page. Couldn't be updated on a desktop app. And have all those updates to all those devices within a minute.
This is not a vote of confidence in the Wintel OEMs of the world.

Not sure they'll be happy about it, either. Suppose no one makes a Win8 tablet, just ultra books. Roughly same price, better margins due to lower mfg costs.
And that's why marketing matters.
Done well, sells more.
Done poorly, sells a lot less.
I'm pretty sure you don't know what ActiveSync does, then. It's all integrated the same as Exchange. Microsoft designed it that way.
Or lasers :-)
So you can't have separate contact lists? Like one for work, one for personal? Or email? Or calendars?
BTW, ActiveSync is the name, it does exactly what you describe.
iOS/Android have ActiveSync from Microsoft. For integrating with Exchange - calendars, contacts, email, notes.
How does WinPhone integrate better with Exchange?
I thought they released a slim laptop yesterday?

Pretty sure the Lumia 900 was introduced 3 months ago in the US.
Freedom actually means you can go build your own device.
And that ain't free.
What if you use your airspace for a shooting gallery? Rifle bullets can got 40,000' though probably not vertically.

Well, the OS may be able to be run without a keyboard.
But MSFT's examples in Office & Lightroom *required* a keyboard to demo.
Isn't that the price of freedom?
It ain't free.
Is it so hard to pop up a dialog that requires the user to make a choice?
Let me guess who they'll exempt.
1. Themselves
2. Anyone associated with the government.
So why bother.
Peaceful Saturdays?
Less funny. More scary.
Interesting thought.
Zune ran on ARM hardware.
SurfaceRT runs on ARM hardware.
It refers to what, exactly? They've already announced both.
And only one has a (supposedly) definite release date.
So, you're saying the big Surface is just a gimped ultra book?
Not sure anyone will disagree. Probably why MSFT didn't put out specs.
Which will come out first?
Office for iPad
or
Surface with Office (on WinRT since Win8 model is no-go for you)
Office for iPad already has ~50M possible customers.

FunnyJunk isn't run by a lawyer.
Perfect!
Unless the government(s) ask for it, then it's free for the taking.
Not The Oatmeal's lawyer. Just their own lawyer.
