Well, perhaps you forgot that just last week, Facebook's AI picked up a fake news report & ran it as real news. Just days after they fired their human editors.
Yes, if they get zero deductions. Do you take deductions? Mortgage, kids, flat deduction, etc, etc, etc. And businesses have way more deductions than individuals.
Companies don't get taxed on revenue. They get taxed on net income. ie after costs of goods sold, expenses, etc.
So in 2015, Apple's net taxable income was only $53billion. Making their gross tax due at $18B. Take a few deductions to knock it down, per the law, and yes $7B is not unreasonable at all.
The ugly truth is that life can't survive without killing something
FTFY because you seem not to understand the world you live in.
versus the Toledo Mud Hens?

So, there's all kinds of hilarity to be expected.
Just wait for the AI to not detect trolls.
Derek Jeter on the trading block to the Xatalal Bats???
That's not the same thing as Apple achieving greatness with violence.
But that's not the same thing.
He said greatness is only achieved through violence. Which is not remotely the same thing as having a protective security force.
I showed him clear examples of greatness without violence. Proving his point incorrect.
Apple is the wealthiest company that has ever existed.
Did they use violence to get there?
Agriculture is arguable the greatest thing mankind ever invented.
It doesn't need violence.
In other words, you're a tough guy behind a gun. But your mind is can't see what actual greatness looks like.
I'm worried that the pro-military guy spouting stuff doesn't realize he's funding it all.
Or he's just wanting more $.
Occam's razor says it's the latter.
Can you say something stupider than Donald Trump?
You cannot have greatness without violence.
Yes, yes you fucking can.
Yes, if they get zero deductions. Do you take deductions? Mortgage, kids, flat deduction, etc, etc, etc. And businesses have way more deductions than individuals.
Making the battery non-swappable is the fucking stupidest shit ever
And yet Apple & Samsung are the only manufacturers making money in the phone space. With phones that mostly have non-swappable phones.
Maybe there's a reason for that, and you just can't see it.
That's not slashdot.
It's the NSA hitting enter on all the funny comments everywhere.
LOL.

But thanks for the laugh.
The country collecting taxes?
WTF kind of question is that?
So, that's Ireland's fault, not Apple's.
or even just a few cans of the expanding foam crack filler.
Do not go gently into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
So why isn't the burden on Ireland to fix/pay for this? They're the ones supposedly out of compliance with EU tax laws.
Apple paid about $7,000,000,000 in taxes to the US govt last year.
Is that a fair enough share for you?
Do you try to minimize your tax burden? Do you take any deductions? Are others not allowed to because they made more money?
This may be true.
But why is this not Ireland's fault? Why are they not forced to collect what is supposedly owed?
Well, the 'land' ie Ireland is fine with what Apple has paid in taxes.
It's the EU where it gets iffy.
It could have been in a shadow when it was struck?
But what's it's *relative* speed. It could be a lot higher OR lower than 11 km/s.
To do multi thousand (calculated) point graphing?
Plus only the Mac (mine actually was an SE/30, I had forgotten!) ran Excel decently back then. Which is what I was doing my fusion modeling on.
