    Well, perhaps you forgot that just last week, Facebook's AI picked up a fake news report & ran it as real news. Just days after they fired their human editors.

    Yes, if they get zero deductions. Do you take deductions? Mortgage, kids, flat deduction, etc, etc, etc. And businesses have way more deductions than individuals.

    And yet Apple & Samsung are the only manufacturers making money in the phone space. With phones that mostly have non-swappable phones.

    Maybe there's a reason for that, and you just can't see it.

    LOL.

    Companies don't get taxed on revenue. They get taxed on net income. ie after costs of goods sold, expenses, etc.

    So in 2015, Apple's net taxable income was only $53billion. Making their gross tax due at $18B. Take a few deductions to knock it down, per the law, and yes $7B is not unreasonable at all.

    So why isn't the burden on Ireland to fix/pay for this? They're the ones supposedly out of compliance with EU tax laws.

    Apple paid about $7,000,000,000 in taxes to the US govt last year.

    Is that a fair enough share for you?

    Do you try to minimize your tax burden? Do you take any deductions? Are others not allowed to because they made more money?

    Plus only the Mac (mine actually was an SE/30, I had forgotten!) ran Excel decently back then. Which is what I was doing my fusion modeling on.
