Just... chill. This guy has been hated for DECADES. A little internet-tough-guy celebration isn't likely to take physical form, and you know it. Can you deal with it if we hope for daily nookies (hard ones) and wedgies?
Not everyone is driven by money. It's simplistic, it's short-sighted, it's hard to believe sometimes... It's also true. An introvert with all basic meeds net will happily stow away a boatload of money if he/she enjoys the other activities they are able to take part in. Add fuel to that if there's any kind of general or social anxiety in play. Getting social interaction through IRC/chat rooms is quite doable for some people. His gaming would absolutely compound that into a balanced (in his mind) life.
Good point. It reminds me of my mid-90's tech support days... (in the south) "I'm havin' trouble with my email... ENDORA doesn't wanna start to check.."
In theory, you could run a red light bulb on your porch, and eventually, the government, with guns, could conceivably arrive to stop you. Oh, sure, it'll take a while. You'll get HOA letters, lawyer letters, eventually subpeonas to appear in court for flagrantly disregarding the HOA bylaws.... All said, eventually, your little red light bulb will be shut down by the government. Even if you plugged it in before the by-law was written.
Let's wait and see.... I am slightly optimistic and a tiny bit relieved... Unfortunately, even if it's true, it doesn't mean the "full" version is going to get made.
But we're talking about companies that allowed film rights to go to one, and tv rights to another.... For the same franchise that had been under the same roof for 30+ years.... Sanity is not the first word I'd use for either of them.
This IS a tricky one. Maybe they think that a fire will be more easily extinguished if one gets shorted out during flight. I am thinking their reasoning is based on shifting luggage, which could cause the older models to mechanically engage and just keep heating up. Whereas the ones on carry-ons might be dealt with sooner?
The only argument I can come up with against the new rule is, "surely the TSA and the baggage handlers are treating each bag as if it were their own and with the utmost care...."
The statement appears (to me) to be based on the belief (as I do) that she has gotten away with many crimes simply because she has accumulated political power. Those of us who believe she is guilty of crimes and gross fraking negligence don't think the people that would/could/should decide to press charges against her, will.
The general "neocon" if you will, thinking is : She's got someone in her pocket by either having dirt on them, or someone that wants the ear of the next president that owes them a favor on the level of keeping her out of prison.
If you google it enough, you will find the shady (whitewater) to outright tin-foil-hat stuff that suggests she has had numerous people murdered.
For me, it is simply enough that she allegedly had military uniforms banned from the White House during Bill's term.
Nah, I can think of an easy way. This is how I'd do it. Actually, many of those who have had ebay or paypal or other 'real money'-linked have had to do this... (Maybe they still do. I have no idea.) When signing up for the service, they wanted to verify you had the checking account/information you signed up with. So they'd send you a transfer of anywhere from one cent to $2 or $3 and change. The only way to 'verify' was to use that deposit (some did it twice) as the confirmation code.
So as long as they custom-wrote each threat so it had a unique extortion amount, they could know who sent them $2000.23 via bitcoin (xxx.com) or $2333.22 (yyy.com)
This means that each simulation must be simpler than the universe it runs in and so there will be a finite limit on how long the chain can be before the most complex simulation possible resembles Pacman. Or, perhaps, Sim City?
No, the liberals just think that white men have so long been so responsible for so much MORE pain and suffering and other horrible things, that they become better people if they make concerted efforts to undo those 'atrocities' by ignoring the white men and the descendents of white men (no matter how long ago), slandering them, excluding them, and endangering themselves and others in the process.
We can't handle the truth. Our society is getting DUMBER, not smarter. We can't handle the thought of beings from beyond arriving. There would be cults worshipping them, cults demonizing them (this ALREADY happens in certain major religions, claiming UFO's are the work of Satan.) And suicides and suicide cults and people wanting to marry them within an hour of meeting them.
You're probably technically right. But it may be only in the legal sense, give the responses already posted here...
Also, bear in mind they could do exactly what AT&T and other cell providers did when congress mandated cell phone number portability between carriers... They all tacked on a $2 charge on every bill and called it "regulatory compliance recovery fee" or something similar.
Lived in central FL at the time... 5th grade. We were moving stuff for a play. I was all excited about the 'separation' because I hadn't seen a day launch yet. Just night. I thought it was normal, but couldn't figure out why the number of objects (smoke plumes, really) we could see didn't add up to 2 srb's and 1 shuttle...
Yeah, we can tell you're a frakin' n00b by your SEVEN digit user ID #! Hahaha. Back to the A/V room with you!:) J/K:) Merry Christmas.
Forrest Mimms wrote some very cool books that explained a lot about electronic components, how they operated, and what you could build with them. I had some of those pages memorized.... Some of them still over my head, though, sadly. I think the most advanced project he drew that I built was a small 1-transistor oscillator that made nearby AM radios receive some clicks or buzzing, depending on the value of the capacitor used. I remember first buying some of them in 4th grade... 1984 or so.
Just gonna throw this out there.... My niece and nephew will almost certainly not learn cursive. They are learning no-look touch-typing instead. What argument could be made that that is not a good trade-up? I'm not baiting/challenging. I just can't think of a reason to oppose that idea...
Hell, he can have all the mod points, and I'll leverage our children's childrens' mod points to boot. It's depressing as hell that not only can we not talk about the statistics and demographics, but to change/improve the situation, what in the world would have to be done?
BUT, I disagree on your different media/shiny toy point. A shiny, new interface that can engage more senses than a Ticonderoga #2 and loose-leaf paper or workbook. Sure, it might make a difference between interaction with a computer or watching a video (ie-Sesame Street) but I'd bet money any day of the week that those of us that watched Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, and Electric Company in the early 80's are more well versed than of our peers who did not, in math and english. Hell, in contractions ALONE.... I'd be a great teacher... But I'd be a depressed and hopeless teacher too quickly. Then I'd be a fired teacher for telling the wrong kid's parents why their snowflake is failing, using plain, non-PC-filtered english.
Of course they will. Governments are historically quite benevolent about giving up broadened surveillance and other sources of information when actual evidence surfaces it might not be as effective as first thought. I'm sure they are happy to eat the loss of funds for purchase/installation/maintenance of said systems, too. sigh.
I really DO NOT get California. If there was ONE state I thought you *might* be able to get an anti-government-monitoring consensus in....
I've seen this first-hand. A guy locally was going around with an up-skirt camera rig in his duffle-bag. I saw what was going on and alerted security, they called the cops... They said it was a public place with "no reasonable expectation of privacy" so as much as they wanted to get him, they didn't think it would hold. (The guy was long-gone by the time the cops arrived)

Wow. #1563... OK, I believe it when you say over a decade. :)
Literally a thorn, or just *knowing* he wasn't already in jail/ having paid for his shenanigans? Or actually still causing trouble for you/your users?
I can say, "This." to that!

Checking the logs.... No odd surges of power.
And suddenly a message on the screen: Please don't kill us, Susie. Don't stop process simuniverse9942.89.exe.

But would you entertain the argument that it could depend A LOT on what the iPad is loaded with?

They're not illegal. Not fully. (yet) It depends on location AND altitude AND purpose of flight. (commercial vs. non-commercial)
