  1. I assume you have an Internet connection. If you want ease-of-use and -modification, check out Zoho Creator https://www.zoho.com/creator/ , a tool that makes it easy to build database-backed web forms

Just the way it was voiced, this is unjustified bashing to me.

Please refrain from voicing your personal political opinion regarding the CSU in this dogmatic way. They are a democratic party in a democratic country, winning around 50% of all votes regularly in Bavaria. While I do not support their vote on the Linux issue, I respect them as what they are - not a "nuisance" but the strongest political force in south-eastern Germany.

Why does IBM use PC hardware?
Wouldn't it make more (marketing) sense to use one of their own platforms, I guess the z-Series should be the most suited for that amount of data...

    Anyone used Fischertechnik?

Maybe not well known outside of Germany, but it gives you much more technical possibilities than Lego.. I have seen university student projects done in it.

Back in the days you really needed to have some creativity to build somehting with Lego, not just putting together fancy parts of a spacecraft...
I think it's a good thing they are forced to put demands on kids' creativity once again...

There was a story on extracting DNA from fingerprints. Of course not with the digital image of a fingerprint though, maybe the US authorities should consider going back to cardboard after all.

  10. Re:28 countries exempt on U.S. Begins Digital Fingerprinting In Airports · · Score: 1
The 28 countries are those on the Visa Waiver Program, allowing visitors to the US on business or pleasure trips to enter the country without a visa if they are from one of those "trusted" countries.

If you want to stay any longer or work/study in the US, you still need a visa and you will be subject to the new regulations.

This is fine living in a wired world, but in a lot of places you just dont have fast internet connectivity available.

While they sure are the most important video rental business in the US, calling them "the industry" is a little America-centric.
