Not really. The current place is basically perfect. There's three reasons why where it is now is good.
The first is the fact that you're close to the equator. This helps by reducing the required escape velocity since you're ever-so-slightly further away from the centre of the earth.
The second is that you're closer to the TAL landing points. This is critical if you really need to TAL, as it only takes about 20 mins from the time of a TAL call to landing.
The third is quite simply that you're launching over water, and thus anything you wish to drop (be it SSRBs, ETs or the whole shuttle if you needed to do a bail out after an RTLS), you're not doing it on someone's house.

Instead, the suggested water to use is deionized water, which is non-conductive* and doesn't suffer as much from scum forming (although many still like to use an anti-algae solution to combat the scum that forms.

That is a strawman argument, and very insulting. If I write down a word, I can think it is correct. It might not be, but to me, I've spelt it correct. Should I waste my time double checking every word I type just incase I've spelt it wrong? No. Why? Because if you can correct my typo's, you evidently and clearly know what I was attempting to spell.

Words are only here to convey meaning. It does not matter exactly how they are spelt, just as long as you can convey the meaning you've set out to do, you're fine.

It does get harder as well. Most spell checkers give you a choice of words that the program things you were attempting. The annoying thing about that is, for most dyslexic people, if the word that was flagged doesn't appear to be wrong in their eyes, they will be unsure as to what word is the correct spelling. Thus more time must be taken to construct a reply, and with the fast moving speed of the internet and the pace of most discussions, that isn't an option, especially if you're able to spell with a 98% accuracy. I'm very sure you've made "stealth" typo's that end up in your online posts, and yet most people never feel the need to shove them into your face. Infact, I'm damn sure that there's at least one spelling mistake in 50% of posts longer than 10 words on slashdot. However, slashdot is not a 50% discussion, 50% discussion about the typo's in the 50% discussion, so evidently people either:

    a) do not care about the odd occasional typo
    or
    b) other people do not spot them

Now, as far as I'm aware, I've not made any spelling mistakes in this post. However, if you find any, big fucking deal. Pat yourself on the back and get on with life rather than trying to insult people over the internet for spelling mistakes.

One of the memory techniques I've seen used before for learning a set of random objects was to place them in a common thing, such as going to work in the morning. This also has the advantage of being able to recall in sequence. For example, say the first four random items were an alarm clock, a banana, a mouse (squeeky type, not computer type), and a spoon, you might remember something like:

'I woke up to my Alarm Clock, which also had a banana on top, which was weird. Sitting up in my bed, I saw a mouse hanging from the end of my bed. I grabbed a spoon to try remove it...'

Obviously depending on how much you have to remember and what you have to remember the amout of extra story can be shortend to nearly the key items, but as long as you can remember the story in whole, there's little to stop you from realling out a list of items.

When I had my dyslexia test done, one of the tests there was to listen to a set of numbers, and wait 10 seconds, then repeate them. I then also had to do it again in reverse with a diffrent set of numbers; the number of digits getting longer with each try. The way I managed to do well in it was to see the numbers in front of me, as if they were neon signs, and then make them dissapear when I had said them. This also allowed me to read them off in any order. Normally the sweetspot for recall is 7, plus or minus two items. I managed to make it to 11 digits in order, 9 in reverse, which is fairly good.

I would wager that people who learn sequences of things would have techniques similar to this.

'Custom PC' (a UK mag for high-end computer customisation) did a review of 31 PSU's a few issues back, and they used a load generator to do it. They found that none of the silent PSU's could either output their correct voltage, and to top it off, some of the "silent" PSU's and the low-end PSU's actually exploded while being tested.
