My recorder can record 2 items at once, but I've still run into problems.
I wanted to record a movie from 8-10, Lost from 8-9:01, and Jack and Bobby from 9-10. Because of the minute overlap, I wasn't able to schedule Jack and Bobby (what a loss, I know!)
Thanks to bit torrent, I watched it the next day. I'm seriously thinking of just trying to set up a HTPC with myth-TV or some other software and getting rid of the PVR...
Recording live performances is allowed in some cases. Not only with jam bands that have followed the Dead and Phish in their stance on live recording. Other bands and artists are cool with it too. They realize that, by allowing shows to be recorded, they are potentially increasing their fanbase, as well as increasing the number of people at a show. I've been to shows to tape, based solely on a recommendation to go see and tape their show.
I didn't think it was too "alarmist" as towards the end they talk about the only major negative effects of a weakened magnetic field and eventual switch is a slight increase in cancer (compared with all the cancer in the world as we know it today.) It also presented the possibility of having more than 2 poles, and a positive effect of the was having the auroras being visible all over the Earth.
I showed this in my Earth Science classes this weeek, as we just started talking about how magnetic reversals are recorded in igneous rock, and is one of the pieces of evidence for sea floor spreading and plate tectonic theory.
I can't imagine pinball would work well in zero gravity. Hopefully they'll at least have a bitchin' big screen to watch all the games...
I really want to ignore the flame, but if you think teachers only work 6 hrs a day, you're crazy, and uninformed.

Many bands are now allowing their live shows to be posted on the archive http://www.archive.org/audio/etree.php and there's always bit torrent as well http://tracker.bargainville.org/ http://bt.easytree.org/
Taping shows for personal, non-commercial use should be ok. Selling is what should be illegal
