* OSS advocates complain about the lack of innovation coming from Microsoft. Often, these posts are written from KDE using an integrated filesystem/HTML browser, a taskbar, a start menu, and more. Apparently, nobody wants to admit that the only reason those are implemented is because much-criticized Windows 98 did it first. Clone, clone, clone. This is the life of an open source wannabe. One of these days, they'll actually come up with an original idea that ordinary people can use to create interest in their offerings. Until then, it's going to be, "Yeah, we'll be able to do that soon, too."

Large buttons are always better when it comes to the hit/miss ratio. You don't want to be in a typing/mousing fury and hit the wrong button! Keyboards could be made to an unusable small scale, or made gigantic, but the current size was picked because it fits the average human fingers, I assume MS did the same thing with the GUI, found what worked for most people, but you have a lot of outliers (Grandmas, Dads, kids, etc.) throwing the curve off.

I like the blue Luna theme but use this instead, but I think you and me are the only two people who like the new start menu.

"relevant" "not annoying" Google's ads may be both of those things but that still doesn't mean I have to look at them. I block *.googlesyndication.* on my adblocker in FireFox and never see the damn things. But I guess that makes me a bad person for questioning the all might Google-Gods.

In all honesty I really do agree with number 8. That's exactly the way I feel about music.

No, I really am not kidding.

    (8) I believe that artists should be compensated for their work -- preferably by someone else. I mean, they can sell concert tickets (which someone else can buy) or sell t-shirts (to someone else) or something. As long as someone else subsidises my free ride, I'm coooooool with it.

The number 2 guy was on the daily show I think. Funny shit, he was complaining about anti-spammers clogging him up with e-mails he didn't want to try and stop him from sending spam. Then he blames the USPS for the anti-spam laws, because he's sending so much mail they need him to start buying stamps. Then they posted his e-mail on the screen.
