Worse yet! Costumers will buy, because they dont care enough! I finally after years of work got my family to really want a system with as little MS on it as possible (only 98 for games that is). Guess what we ended up buying: Computer, Windows XP (pre-installed, of course), Word, Works, and a whole bunch of other stuff that none of us wanted or needed! The important point is that they did this, not because they were completely clueless or because somebody had told them how great WinXP is, but because it would have been too much work to do anything else. And, trust me, it'll be the same for all this kind of "technology"!
The reason I got my whole family to switch to Linux was their fear of viruses!
Some day they asked me what to do to avoid catching a cold (well, their computer anyways). At first I thought about doing all kinds of stuff to their windows machine, but when I (half jokingly) told them to use Linux they they were surprisingly open for the idea.
So I set it up for them, expecting that they would have me remove it within a few days, but they still (it's over a year now) use it. They seem to be a bit scared of the all-mightiness (maybe I shouldn't have set up a Slackware system after all) though. It's working perfectly however. It's odd they never ever got a virus.
If red is what we expect and if red is not, what it would look like, if I (or anybody else for that matter) were up there, could anybody please provide us with an idea of what we would see? Are those dirty-looking pictures that google finds of the "mars-surface" more correct? Or have they been manipulated as well, because "we expect dirt-color"?
I don't think there is much point in arguing about it. Some GIMPing should do the trick, right?
"
Windows Media has the largest active user reach at 34 percent" "MSN Messenger Service at 19 percent".
With those numbers in mind (53%), you might want to check out, what Microsoft has to say about information that is collected by Windows Media Player and MSN Messenger.
"provide written certification that [...]:
- No employees or contractors that have had access to UNIX have contributed any software code based on that product to Linux"
If every named company does just that it's the end of SCO's claims, right?.
Wouldnt that show the world just how pointless this whole affair is?
Alright, here's the deal:

Here you go:
Blinkenlights reloaded
This year there will be another Blinkenlights installation, this time, after a detour to paris, once again in Berlin. From 22th December until 4th January the Chaos Computer Club (CCC) will again be playing them on Haus des Lehrers [The Teacher's House; translator's note] with a light installation. A new version of BlinkenPaint makes the creation of animations possible. The "ping pong"-game and provided "love movies" can once again be requested by phone by calling [from outside of Germany, pre-dial: "+49 190", from inside: "0190"; translator's note] 987654. Each call is EUR 1,24 per minute [from Germany! It will be more, if you call from anywhere else; translator's note]. The money will go to the CCC to pay the amount due to operate BlinkenLights, so it can be maintained without advertising in the future, said the CCC.
For Blinkenlights Reloaded, the name of this year's event, the same technology will be used, which has been developed for Arcade in Paris. So grey scale will be possible, which is supported by the new version 3 of BlinkenPaint. Everybody interested can send animations as email attachments to movies@blinkenlights.de. They will be played on the house. The movies need to be created with BlinkenPaint previously and saved as a text-file in the BML-file-format.
on all other scales however ...
Your mention of "the PC platform" made me wonder:
Are Macs not going to be affected by this? Probably not, right?
Alright, I am off to the local apple store.

contaminating the linux operating system with MS's foreign programming techniques and bugs
There was something very similar mentioned here on slashdot the other day:
Microsoft Brings Security Holes to the Mac
Maybe some of you guys still remember this article on Microsoft's presence at LinuxWorld Expo. It suggests that if Microsoft would have announced a Linux port of Office it would have meant the end of Linux.

You have seen the slashdot version haven't you?
I don't think a story on this would be accepted though. After all, the image on the page is an IE rendering of slashdot. How embarrassing!
Good job! Now that they know about me how about telling them about James, too! While you're at it! Oh damn it!

Feel free to post any comments on "DE flaming" here.
:-)
There were 5 posts so far and none of them was anti-Microsoft.
Come on guys, we can do better than this!
"the old cdrecord interfaces are an UNBELIEVABLE PILE OF CRAP!"
:-)
So I guess Linus just found the SCO code in linux.
