I just watched a presentation last week where some grad students were looking to replace Mobility IP with their protocol IPMN. It only has a delay of 100 -> 200 ms. when switching networks, and no data packets are dropped. To test it they made VOIP calls to texas and VA.
It for the Money.
If everyone with a 64bit processor buys an essentially recompiled version of XP, and then buys longhorn when it comes out (whenever that is) they have successfully sold one more product than they would have.
you can't do an accurate study on how cellphone radiation affects the brain by increasing the power of the microwave to speed up results.
Its like testing to see if a pan at 75F will ever burn you, but to speed up time, you turn it up to 150F.
I attend Kent State University and at first glance it would look like there are windows machines everywhere. But this is not the case. The entire journalism department uses Mac's along with the art department. The CS Department looks like it had win boxes, but all the machines have cgywin on them and connect to remote linux servers (about 10 of them). Viri don't do too much damage to the systems either, as the computers cannot connect to the server without having a special distibution of McAfee running on the machine. The student are only given user rights too, so even if they do get a virus, it won't be able to do as much damage as it might have been capable of. Now if only the CS department would let me use my memory stick......
Why would anyone care if there are bacteria that affect people with aids on your shower curtain? People with AIDS have a very weak Immune System (AIDS indirectly kills by destroying your Immune System) anyways.
Plus those people that don't shower smell because they are covered in bacteria anyways.
Ah, I remember the good old Balck Out like it was yesterday, or last yeah. I was at a friends house and suddenly the cable went out. Her house still had power, since they were on a new substation, but my house was fresh out. At the time, I was still working at McD's and they had power from Kent and were one of the only buisness's with power. they were swamped. Luckily, all the phones at my house were cordless, so no power, no phone calls. It was a fun day!
I just started using linux myself, and there are a coulple of things that show me it will never take off. 1. It is a pain in the A$$ to install drivers
(it still won't use my sound card) 2. It doens't reconize the stupid whell on my mouse. (nore any of the other extra buttons) 3. It requiers me to figure out how to edit the kernal myself, and doesn't provide any instructions or tips on how to do so. 4. It doesn't notice my Usb storage device without changing some setting that I can't find on my own without a manual. 5. It requiers me to mount all my drives manualy. 6. My XP machine hasn't froze or crashed or anything since I got it. it reconized my mouse properly, it reconized my graphics card, it found my Usb storage device immediatly, It even found my sound card and plays music through it. It even automaticaly mounts all my drives. It works like it's supposed to!
I don't care about fireworks, flash, whatever. BUT if they kill off Dreamweaver, I will have a major vendetta with Adobe!

I find it interesting how much time they put into testing each motherboard. It looks like they spend more time testing it than assembling it.
like someone would benefit from stealing my Identity. They would just inherit my debt.
I guess that's one more reason to get a passport

Out of all the "HD" Tv's at Best Buy, The Aquos Series did look the best even though they are LCD Displays
