The simple approximation of power available to a wind turbine involves the mass of air crossing the 'swept area' of the turbine per unit time. There is no escaping the fact that the more power you want, the larger this swept area has to be. Hence the long blades on 'typical' wind machines.
Um, no. "Potential enemy states" aren't going to worry about a f*kin FCC license when they are engaging in hostile activities. Furthermore, this link(from a previous post) explains that its the ground station that needs the license. There is nothing about restricting the transmitter (satellite).
F* you , Tweedy Pai. This rule is just an attempt to keep people from bypassing US broadcasters markets by aiming a dish at a Canadian TV satellite. You people are rapidly approaching the Stasi and North Koreans. I expect the authorities to be kicking down my door any moment, looking for illegal receivers.
Not constantly. This is a ground maintenance function. But if it can be monitored, an enemy can gain some valuable information about the status of your forces. And if it can be hacked, that enemy could effectively ground all your planes pending unneeded maintenance*.

The hipsters are mainly renters. So they won't be profiting from the increase in property values. In fact, they will be moving out.
It's an upscale version of what light rail did in Seattle. Colored folks got pushed out by hipsters. But the hipsters think they define the culture of a place. And if they get pushed out, there will be hell to pay.
In the USA, unions have ceased to be negotiators for employees' rights and benefits and become political action committees with their own agendas. I've worked in a few jobs nominally covered by a union. But my compensation and benefits has never depended on the union's negotiations. I've always been paid far more than the union mandated minimums. But at times, management has used these minimums to argue (incorrectly) that the union won't permit higher pay levels.
Also, unions have failed to lobby for and maintain professional standards in their industries. States have licensing requirements for my profession. But the laws regulating the practice are full of loopholes. And the unions are strangely silent on this subject. Companies (in my state) are free to drag any bum off the street and slap the title of 'engineer' on him. As long as he pays his dues, the union raises no objections.
So, someone spends time developing 'skillz' and then wastes them stealing make-belive pots of gold and magic cloaks. Nintendo adds little note to their credit file to the effect that they have no compunction about violating trust or contracts.
All those interesting jobs working for a TLA, banks or the DoD? Forget about them. Enjoy your career as a short-order cook.
On the other hand, what happens if I generate a unique GUID (or Ipv6 address) for each session/browser window/etc? What if my browser supports a fixed ID/address for trusted sessions (like to my bank or stock broker) but then randomizes these when I'm doing searches, watching porn, etc?
Where to I apply for my license as an 'actual wildlife photographer'? Which government bureau is in charge of issuing them?
This may seem to be simple sarcasm to many. But we are having a real problem in my area with our state fish and wildlife people shitting bricks when anyone tries to submit anything into evidence that doesn't fit their political agenda. The day is rapidly arriving when the public will not be permitted to look at orcas, seals or sea lions. Because they might discredit the states data.
And it's OK when cyclists take their own chances. But how many little kids see adults doing this and figure that it's OK. With no concept of how cars can and cannot maneuver.
It's safer to keep moving than to risk being squashed between cars.
Nope. Because once I've seen you from my car, I know you are there and will make allowances for you. The danger to you is that interval when you get near another car and they aren't aware of you yet. That's when you get squashed. Lane splitting just allows you to surprise more car drivers with your presence per minute, increasing your exposure.
They are called manners. Learn some. It might be kindergarten to say "Because I said so." But if you haven't figured out how society functions on your own, then you don't get your diploma yet.
Then they go to various legislatures and city councils to get even more idiotic laws passed allowing them to obstruct traffic
These aren't cyclists. Not everyone who attends city council meeting wearing Lycra, helmets and funny shoes has cycling's best interests at heart. The militant 'cyclists' in Seattle are just using actual cyclists as speed bumps to slow down car traffic. Or screw with commercial/industrial districts.
Assume you are a cyclist and you are given a few options for a route from point A to B and one of them involves cutting through a light industrial district with trucks, forklifts and train cars crossing the proposed bike route. Would you chose that route over a bike path along a side street with general auto traffic? Yes? Welcome to Seattle. But once the developers use a few dead cyclists as an excuse to shut down local industrial businesses and turn the property over to them, rest assured that they will have the bicycle trail shut down. Because you can't sell high end properties when there are a bunch of cycle bums zipping back and forth in front of your driveways.
But Idaho Stop laws codify this behavior in the rules. And since it's all a matter of 'proceed if you judge the intersection to be safe', enforcement becomes subjective. Cyclists who already blow through intersections without the Idaho Stop rules will just think that they have the blessing of the law to carry on.
This.

Not by a long shot. The greatest vulnerability would be fueling an F-35 from a truck painted something other than white.
No. That was Theresa May.

Yeah. But did you actually steal stuff? Or just take it apart to see how it works? There's a big difference between hacking and piracy.
