    Knowing Google, they probably have some kickass supercomputer that can review all the videos and make sure that the Metadata is really whats in the video ;-p

    Um.. I don't know if you noticed, but... *BSD and Darwin /are/ free, opensource versions of Unix. Linux however, is not. Linux is POSIX-compliant, however.

    I would definitely go with FLAC. No patent/IP worries, no licensing... its opensource... and it transcodes very nicely. I use it personally for my entire collection except what I switch over to my iPod, which is when I transcode it to 192Kbps AAC. Don't use Apple's Lossless, it has licensing issues and Linux decoders are buggy at best. Don't use RAW or WAV cause um... they're too big.

    Dude, TurboTax online works perfectly on Linux. thats what my family uses. And if game makers would actually write their games FOR linux, they would run just as fast on their windows counterparts. The reason they don't is because they write linux wrappers for windows code.

    He said linux, not that Redshat mockery of Linux. :-p And yes, Fedora is still a Redhat thing. Its hosted by Redhat, started by Redhat, etc. And before someone yells at me for calling it Redshat, I only call it that because they kill KDE in every single release. But thats an entirely different discussion.

    They can hold you in custody for up to 48 hours (or is it 72?) before formally charging you (which they need evidence for). Unless of course you're accused of a terrorist act, in which case you can be held indefinitely wihtout being charged. Seriously.

    Yeah, but too bad that Anonymous Coward does not use 24bpp (no, 16bpp doesnt do what you want) he's too lazy to use two keystrokes instead of one. These two features are what keeping me back from using Anonymous Coward, for my photography.

    Well, if you're lying on the ground, you'll show up as 1-2 pixels long... 1px/meter, 1.5-2 meters tall, laying down... ya. Problem is whether or not you would actually show up since MOST people are a meter across. Oh well

    Amazon.com, BN.com, etc. They have lots of "intelligent" stuff on audio CD that you could listen to. Also check around local community college book stores for stuff like that. Often college courses will have things like that as part of the course material . Good luck.

    Just carry the shoebox sized thingy around with you, stop somewhere with a power outlet and a water tap, and refuel. This is probably cheaper than gas, you know. Especially if its /not your power/ :-p
