    Is this related in any way to the affect of Subliminal Messaging? While yes, we KNOW we are reading these spam messages, the affect seems to be the same. I haven't RTFA yet, so if im on crack, ignore me.

    Then they go and design a huge mass of file formats that contain both data and binary.

    I think you mean both raw data and executable machine code. Everything on your computer is binary.

    Actually, they probably did it because its cheaper to use one screen across every iPod then to have two different screens, especially since there are also differences in the way the color screens have to be hooked up... they probably had two almost completely separate manufacturing lines, due to this. By switching them all to color, they can make every ipod on the same manufacturing line, throw certain amounts of ipods into a specialized manufacturing section that puts in the right drive.

    Well, he's slightly wrong about that. There wouldn't have been an upheaval of landmass, and so it wouldn't have caused a huge tsunami like we saw in december. However, the shaking back and forth itself can cause tsunamis... or would they call that a tidal wave? Either way it doesn't have t be a thrust fault in order to cause a tsunami, it just has to be a thrust fault in order to cause a rise of the ocean floor, which would cause a huge one.

    Actually... this is "news for geeks; stuff that matters" This matters to us geeks. Not everything on here is tech-related. You do afterall see alot of things about stuff like natural disasters, books, movies, etc.

    Actually, if you think about, it may be closer to being a quantum computer than anything else. There aren't 1s and 0s in our brains, but multitudes of different states for each neuron, as there are multitudes of different spin states for each particle in a quantum computer.

    I wonder if the experiments in simulating the human brain will come in handy with making an AI. I mean if we can understand how the human mind makes decisions, we can better code an AI that can make decisions the way we can based on environment, situation... how we feel about the world... etc.
