Instead of obsessing about how unlockable features prevents you from having you your fun try thinking of them as spreading the fun over a longer period of time. If a game gave you everything at the start once you got bored with the game that would be it. However with unlockable content you still have new things to do even after you have begun to exhaust the possibilities of the game play provided at the beginning. So instead of buying a game that gives you 30 hours of fun you have bought a game that gives you 50 hours of fun. I would call that a good thing.
Summary of article: malware authors may try to take advantage of disasters. That's not exactly cutting edge reporting. What I would be more interested in hearing about is if malware authors start creating rumors of disasters in order to cash in anyways if nothing bad happens. Let's say Alberto fizzles. Will we still get spam asking for donations to help the newly homeless? I guess I'll have to wait and see.
You might think that this is useless to you. However simply memorize a few quotes from the article and you can be prepared for any situation. Boss unexpectedly wants a status report? Sure boss, currently my I'm developong a compact n-manifold that is homotopy-equivalent to the n-sphere if it is homeomorphic to the n-sphere. We'll be done in a couple of weeks. Wife bothering you to take out the trash? Sure honey right after I demonstrate that every simply connected closed three-manifold is homeomorphic to the three-sphere (in a topologist's sense) S^3, where a three-sphere is simply a generalization of the usual sphere to one dimension higher. Never be at a loss for words again!

I think government DRM would be awesome, because knowing governments they would pick an out of date and easily broken DRM scheme and then force everyone to use it. Consumers win!
The article doesn't say that they are entering into a permenant relationship with Microsoft. All you have is "What you see is what you get. And at this point, it's Windows." And that doesn't mean much. Maybe they will go with BSD instead?
I hate to sound snide, but asking a bunch of computer geeks, notoriously out of touch with their feelings, to make a game about/with emotions is asking for trouble.
Must. Restrain. Laughter. I think even small children are smart enough to realize that "Captain Copyright" is an idiotic idea. Kids don't respect educational cartoon role models in general; I see no reason why "Captain Copyright" will be any different. A generic super-hero with boring powers whose opponents are ordinary people instead of super-villains... no one is going to find that interesting.
I have to say Jet Blue has always impressed me with their service, although unfortunately they don't fly everywhere I want to go. Has anyone seen a study detailing the return on money invested in passanger comforts by airlines?
This may be great for catching some bugs, but I think the majority of problems within software are not from "conflicting" instructions, they come from the program doing to wrong thing (i.e. not what we wanted) or simply performing an illegal opearation in the process of getting the correct results. Neither of these cases is a logical inconsistancy. Now maybe if we all programmed in Prolog this would be more useful...
It's nice to try new things once in a while, but the dark green bars with black lettering make for poor section dividers, not to mention that it usually makes sense to divide an article into relatively equal sections. Even weirder we have the quote: "On a five-star scale then, where I'd probably probably give the old version only one, but I'd award this one two and a half stars." The article title however implies that the new keyboard is better than the old one, which usually implies that it in some way is up to standards that the previous version wasn't However a 20% to a 50% approval is still failing, by any standard. A better title perhaps would have been: Das Keyboard II: Not Quite as Bad.
This is so much bullshit. One of the principles of democracy is that the people get a say in how the government is run; preventing people from knowing what the government is up to, and preventing them from suing the government when it does something wtrong, goes against this principle. We aren't quite to the maching on congeress phase, but we are getting there fast.
If you follow that logic then you should be using windows. "Note that only some of the software out there runs under Windows emulation mode (WINE)./me = big fan of Linux on the server, however for the desktop - it's not as usably as the Weasel."

A republic is mutually exclusive with democracy. In one version the people vote on laws, in the other they vote on representatives. You can't have it both ways.
It's times like these that I hate living in a republic. What I wouldn't give for a real democracy!
Stupid w and h keys being so close together ...
Asimov should sue, that is if we wasn't dead.

No. Who asks these questions anyways?
The real question: how long before it becomes illegal to own or use one?
Thank you I try hard to please. What did you expect me to do, post a reference to my earlier comment?

Maybe if they created a news post about the new layout people wouldn't be foreced to comment off topic in order to talk about it.
Any moment now I expect robot rights groups to form and start protesting this cruel and unusual treatment of our robot friends. (PETR ?)
Gee a coperation is trying to ensure that the market remains in a state of monopolistic competition instead of perfect competition. Big surprise!

No problem here a democracy fix for you. All you need to do is vote it in now.
