Unless every space is designed with air evacuation in mind, you would end up with places that are not properly scrubbed. You would have to be wearing a mask.

That said; all those sci-fi movies with people saying captain its breathable; are BS.

So what is considered a significant match?

Of all subjects, physics along with mathematics has to be the least interpretive subject a person could write about. Writing a sentence that is NOT UNIQUE would seem to be unavoidable. Compared to an essay written for a class in the social sciences; a 'paper' written for a physics class should be riddled with exact matches.

I mean for an introductory physics student, how much can be said about gravitation? I would imagine that too much creativity would actually be a problem.

Where do you set the limit? If I was a student who diligently wrote a concise paper on some physics topic, and who's honesty then publically called into question: I would sue the prof AND the university. This whole things smells...

Tom Green could make a solar rant out of this...solar on my hand, solar on my foot, solar on my bum, solar on my head! Yippee!

But...I think optically conductive clothes would be cool though. Especially if you could create a pattern of the fiber terminations, to go 180 degrees around the individual and come out on the other side. Maybe what should be said is that pervasive computing won't be that pervasive at all because it will be expensive to make work right at the router level- meaning the little gizmos will simply suck.
