I agree. There is really no point to a story like this besides pure anti-hype/speculation. It's fun to think about, but devoid of real context. When the system comes out, the games will be fun or they won't. Of course, we'll all have to rely on the uber rich to let us know if thats the case, as they'll be the only ones who can afford it.
What would a UART have to do with this? Would'nt a UART just be in places where there is a need for serial communication? As in the controllers or any serial I/O?
Specs definitely don't matter for this console at all. It's about getting games back to how they used to be; short or moderately long pick-up-and play type games. I could definitely buy the idea that the games shown at E3 were hurried more with getting a fun game out on time than maximizing visuals, but ultimately it really doesn't matter, the games will be fun or they won't.
The only games I play any more are games you can pick up and get into the heart of the gameplay instantly; Smash Bros. and Counter-Strike: Source. New Super Mario looks fun. So does Galaxy.
Also, I think people will always find things to be extremely stressed out about no matter what. It comes from thinking that everything in your life is more important than it really is. Once you let go and realize that your life is a meaningless spec on the landscape fo the universe, all of that stress dissappears because, since you came from nothing, you have nothing to lose.
Exactly. If the people you know look down on you because you are not wealthy, then I suggest you get to know different people. But you're right, it can be difficult, although whining that "It's hard!" is just a lame excuse. Live your life within your means the way you want to. No excuses.
If society at large wasn't so materialistic and cash-driven (gotta make a buck no matter what the cost), the stress levels would go down dramatically so people wouldn't do marathon gaming anymore as a means of escape from their 'pitiful' lives.
-It is really up to you as to how materialistic you want to be. I don't know if this is what you were implying, but it isn't really society's fault that people get so caught up in the persuit of physical wealth. Of course, while society does put pressures on you to be materialistic through advertising and general peer pressure, all it takes is a little bit of a strong will and some self control. I wouldn't blame society for something that is the problem of an individual.
Although, as every/. user knows, it's pretty hard to get by without money when you're into tech products!
How could you be smart enough to map your answer against plotting some Y3 using the Y-VARS function to make it Y1', yet not smart enough to take a simple derivative? Using your calculator like that still demands a familiarity with what you're doing. And for the second example, you could do the same thing with a scientific calculator.

A company blindly ignoring the customer to tend to its own agenda will still succeed. It's called Cable.
