  1. The question bad then too?! on Search for the Missing Universe · · Score: 1

Does that mean that the question is no longer "What is 8 times 6?" then as well?!

  2. Re:I still hope on Linux On Unmodded Xbox, Improved · · Score: 5, Interesting

At a bare minimum, he earns my respect as a hacker. Holes like this can often lead to great developments. Look at the TI calculators. Holes were found in the ROMS in order to get to the Z80 assembly layer and produce some of the greatest games (and useful applications) that have been published on calculators.
This was so much a success that TI eventually starting allowing access to the Assembly layer natively (ala the TI86 and TI89/92+)
Besides, it's so much fun hearing about all of these cool holes and backdoors. Like the TI82 was cracked through the Matrix variable named "Q" (which doesn't really exist).
    Anyway, kudos to all involved!

  3. From an MS Intern on Colleges Signing Secret MS License Agreements · · Score: 1

I'm a Microsoft intern and I love slashdot and everything posted here. I like to see Microsoft succeed at some things, but dislike it when they do shady deals. I also enjoy seeing open source and Linux succeed (at home I dual boot winxp/slackware linux w/ slack being the primary boot).
Speech should not be restricted. Everyone should be able to say what they want.
I agree with many of the statements made toward microsoft good and bad.
    Just my viewpoints.

  4. Absolutely! on Do People Really Use Their PDAs? · · Score: 1

I have a Kyocera phone/Palm combo. I use the PDA built-in all the time! I think it does help that it's built into my phone too though. Being a college student moving every year or so to a different place, my cell is my only phone, so I literally do carry it everywhere. Since it's with me all the time, I actually use it all the time. And not just for games. I use it for memos, addresses/phone # (integrated with the phone part--very handy!), task list, web browsing, etc...
    I love it!

  5. Re:Trying to learn linux? on What's A Good Starter Linux distro? · · Score: 1

Foxman is totally correct! Slackware 3.6 was my first distro and WOW did I learn a whole ton by using it! By just starting with that, in about 3-6 months I was already ahead of a lot of people that had been using RedHat and the likes for a lot longer. I hightly recommend it! I still use Slackware 8.0 as my primary becuase I fell in love with it!

  6. Absolutely! on What Audio System Powers Your Home Theater? · · Score: 1

I would have to agree with you. Sony makes wonderful audio equipment and paired with a good set of Cerwin Vega's, you can't go wrong! I've assembled 2 such systems now and they will blow your socks off. Also, as mentioned before, you get a cool universal remote with the Sony! The system almost works too well in my current college dorm room!! ;)
