An idea I had *Due to my health care background*

Could this technique be used to condition aspects of human concious on a negative scale?

We all know the story of volunteers salivating at the image of a fractal *related to ice cream I believe* but this could be triggered without resistance, a subtle but scary thought

Anyone care to expand on the ramifications and / or way to achieve this?

  5. Dream States on Sweet Dreams Are Made By This · · Score: 0

Now, I'm not a scientist, psychoanalyst etc... the fact that the unconcious mind can still be affected by external mediums such as aroma and sound is remarkable, ok so we are waken up by loud noises, surprises etc... but the more subtle effects we perceive as outside the unconcious / subconcious state seem to imply a new branch of dream therapy and analysis. I for one am very interested in this new technique... and just so I'm not overtly interested, I'll settle for some pepper spray, a picture of Mars and 6g of thrust, one way ticket!

Seriously, I'm surprised this hasn't been found sooner, kudos to the research into influencing dreams and dream states

I find it particular that you get modded up on a possible flamer, shame really

Sun and Apple produce quality hardware solutions at a premium, unofficially for profit gain and the certain pro buying groups, officially because they make GREAT hardware!

  10. Re:Brings value? on Sun's new UltraSPARC workstation: the Blade 1500 · · Score: 0

Several specific points are raised with Sun machines, notable? Memory addressing and types of graphics card / chip involved, more a "built to exact order" machine

  11. For The Think Tank on Sun's new UltraSPARC workstation: the Blade 1500 · · Score: 1, Insightful

The great selling point of a Sun is that it seemes to maintain a "cool" factor much like Apple computers, not mass produced generic clones like Dell etc... whether that alone or with certain small scale contributions to server innovation is enough is unclear, other than that, I'll be ordering them for the next college term

    Thanks

I'll post a more descriptive post when I've read up on the specs

  12. A Thought On Recording on 20 Year Anniversary of Home Taping Decision · · Score: 0

With VHS and related products, Sony amongst others gave millions a chance to record quality 80's broadcasts with 250 line analogue machines, with the progression of real time encoding into Mpeg2+ and consumer DVD recorders, how long before the courts rule on a "comprimise" of legality over quality in a recording?

I certainly *in the UK* have the pleasure of recording terrestial broadcasts but am forbidden to record hi-def movie channels etc...

The future for recording is unclear
