Odd, the home behind me just built cost 480,000 and anymore this is common. I challenge you to find a lot that you can actually build on for that price in the Anchorage bowl.
What I don't understand is why everyone in America is all of a sudden a Shepard of Alaska's best interests? Instead of comparing "per capita" spending let's look at the actual dollar amount spent on pork for each state before passing judgment, Let he without sin caste the first stone.
There is next to zero infrastructure in a state 2 1/2 times the size of Texas or 20% the size of the lower 48. Only 1% of all land is privately held and as has been mentioned the cost of providing sewer, water and power to the bush not to mention schools and police is huge. Plus much of the money being spent is on native land with almost zero tax base.
No illusion here,
I know for a fact I have what it takes to protect myself if needed. Six years in the Infantry and a CIB, not to mention several thousand dollars spent on handgun courses in addition to my military training are proof positive I would not hesitate to use deadly force if needed.
The law says that I am responsible for my safety, and I am.
Who is the mod modding everyone down that disgrees with global warming?
I said winter in Alaska was from Oct. thru April rather than Dec thru Feb and was modded 100% overrated, lol. I was told I was wrong and called a shill,I was born and raised in Alaska and I damn sure know when winter is boys.
Alaska has had a colder winter than usual and contradicts the report that it was a warmer winter but it seems no one is interested in hearing this.
Who are you commenting on?
If it's me and you were the one that modded me 100% over rated than thats a shame. Winter in Alaska does indeed run from OCT to April. Seeing how I was born and raised in Alaska I would have a pretty good idea when winter is.
PS, it has been a really cold winter to date and is NOT over yet.
NOAA saids that Alaska has had a warmer winter (3 degrees warmer than normal) when in fact Alaska has had one of the coldest winters on record. But as usual no one pays attention as it just doesnt fit into the grand scheme of things.
FYI winter in Alaska is much lomnger than Dec thru Feb, lol Try OCT thru April!
The co- owner's were gay lovers and after there personal relationship soured things went south. One of the partners wanted to buy into RF for 500,000 and the transaction went all the way to having the stock shares printed and than the jilted lover did not cough up the 500,000 and that was when he made the allegations of lipo and prostitutes and fancey cars as he stole the company right out from under the owner Kevin.
Kevin took him to court and the the court rightly ruled that Kevin's partner's stock was null and void and that Kevin was the rightful owner. This was a week ago and yesterday ICANN stripped RF.
Here are the court documents : http://www.registerflies.com/docman/cat_view-11.ht ml/
Greetings, I fly IL-2 Sturmovik and have since 2001. I also own a trak-IR unit and use it often.
To clear some things up, first Trak-IR was developed as an aid for the disabled, not as a gaming tool first.
Trak-IR came out roughly at the same time as IL-2 and the company was approached by members of the IL-2 community in hopes that there product could be better tailored for flight sims.
The developers of Trak-IR are a great bunch and if there was an interest and demand for Linux support they would in my opinion make the software to support it.
The product works as advertised and it is a great tool for those of us in the flight sim community. I would gander that 50% of those in the IL-2 community use the trak-IR.
The amount of head movement needed to look/pan in the cockpit is minimal and from personal experience can say that eye strain and neck pain is not an issue.
If you fly flight sims than this is a must buy. I have tried some of the other programs that use your web cam and they do not pass the muster at all as the FPS that the cam refreshes max's out at 30, compared to the 120 fps of the trak-IR.
Currently the earth is in a warming trend that is 100% natural. This is a known fact yet gets very little coverage. Do you know anything about Geology? How about Earth science?
How about the scientists at the University of Fairbanks that have been studying the Artic for well over 25 years, does anyone ever quote them?
Do you recall a story that made national headlines a few years ago about a group of scientists that were up near the North Pole? They saw open water on the ice packs and the news media jumped all over it as proof of global warming.
What the story did not tell you is that those "expert's" were not expert's at all in the science of Geology; most of them were biologists on a personal tour, not doing scientific research.
Had any one bothered they would have found out that open water on the ice packs is normal, always has and always will be.
How about all of the false reporting by many of the environmental groups in regards to the Tongass forest and how it has been clear cut and is in danger, pffft. I live in Alaska and was born up here. I can tell you that the Tongass is fine and if you have ever flown over it you would know this as well. Why are there more timber jobs in the state of NY than all of Alaska? How come NY State harvests more timber board ft each year than the entire state of Alaska? I don't hear any cries about saving the forests on the East coast.
What about all of those pretty pictures of ANWAR you see posted all over the web? News flash, that is not ANWAR, that is the Brooks range and the many times I have flown into Deadhorse I never recall even being able to see the Brooks range from the coast at 30,000 ft.
Bottom line is life is all about agendas, everyone has them and that is what drives people.
I get tired of do gooders who dont have a clue telling me how things are up in Alaska.
He also taught at the Navel post grad school in Monterey California in the mid 80's.
In clear and present danger the Army unit that went to South America was B co 3rd Bat. 17th Inf.
This was a real unit at Ft.Ord Ca and though it never did what he said it did it was capable of it.
So in this case his fact checking was accurate and well researched.
Living In Juneau if he was indeed a native Alaskan he would more than likely be Tlingit.

Perhaps many people really dont care if someone else see's the pictures or movies as the original owner views them as irrelavent/ usless if seen?
Any pilot that spends more time looking out the window rather than at the instrument panel is a scary pilot! Keep up the good work :)
