  1. Don't bitch at slashdot on Local News Anchor Feels Pain from Afar · · Score: 1

It's not a very exciting story, but it's fair comment about how many of you really believe that the *man on the box* is your truthfull friend and informant?

Hey the media lie to us ... whats new?!? :-D

  2. Re:History repeats on Bleak Future for Videogame Customers · · Score: 1

LOL Remember the early computer magazines with listings printed in colors that couldn't be photocopied easily??

If they spent the money on making games better rather than copy protection then the games would sell more.

  3. Re:Pedantic... on Paranoia · · Score: 0

You should be modded extra funny for this line.

'I would consider a law to be any rule that an authority (In the case of physics, is the Universe an authority?) sets and reasonably attempts to enforce.'

Reasonably attempting to enforce the laws of physics.

  4. Puritans on One-Way Ticket to Mars? · · Score: 1

If a Puritan revival was to take place perhaps they would build a spaceship named Mayflower and head off to Mars to start a new life.

And once there they'd take their ship apart and use it to build their first homes.

History repeats itself. /me hopes that the indiginous martians won't be called *Red* Indians :-D

  5. Doesn't anyone think on Microsoft Agrees to Stop Hijacking Music-Shopping · · Score: 5, Interesting

it's a bit odd that they have a specific button in XP that says *Shop Online for Music*?

Granted they've now allowed folks to browse their music retailing partners web site in a different browser.

But I wonder what business deal has been done with the music retailer(s) so they can have a ready made market of Windows XP users sent direct to their door(s).

  6. Re:Perceived problems with P2P on Senator Plans P2P Summit · · Score: 1

Well as long as someone out there is able to re-name goatse as paris_hilton_naked.jpg and let it loose on p2p there's very little anyone can do to prevent the distribution of questionable content.

All the computer system sees is a data file.

Unless there is a huge central repository of hashes that you can compare the files to to identify and filter what you're receiving (and who in their right mind would subscribe to a service like that) then questionable content is here to stay.

  7. Re:Seeing it in another perspective on Microsoft's Security Report Card · · Score: 1

This comparison has nothing to do with Microsoft only announcing bugs/patches once a month then?
