Oh, and it is written by the Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Atmospheric Science at MIT so we may surmise he knows a tad bit more about climate change than Gore.
How would your employer survive if every 2 years they fired an entire department and started over from scratch? They would get little to nothing done, and the same concept applies to government.
I am not sure that the logical consequence of your policy is what you think it is.
Everything in moderation, except business, love and war.
If by immunity you mean nobody wants to bother to write a virus that will infect all the MacOS X machines out there (all 731 of them) then I totally agree with you!
I could only find that image that when viewed from a distance looks like the Virgin Mary with her arm around Pope John Paul II I'd be an eBay millionare (and prob. have a/. article as well).
The relationship then of authority to civilian is one of dominance and subordination.
Um... duh! That's why they are the "authority". If you don't like the authority vote. If you don't like the candidates, start your own party. If you don't like giving out a Social Security number, don't use certain services. If you want those services, form a group of like minded indivudals and petition the service provider for a policy change.
I run a commerical printer as well as a web design studio. Guess how I make money. C'mon. Guess! If you said that I make money by running an OS that requires an extensive amount of technical expertise to support... you'd of course be wrong. I make money by PRINTING and DESIGNING. If the process is anything other than making deposits into my bank account, then it is subject to ROI... and Linux just does not fit the bill yet. Sorry.
C'mon, people. Business exist to do one thing - make money selling their service or product. You diehard/.'ers are a bit retarded. Business owners aren't in the "business" of IT departments. Experimentation costs money and mistakes can cost you your job or even the company.
This is a great article for those people whose neurons are not already connected to the mainstream media and Al Gore's frontal lobe:

I think you missed the joke. But, given your sig, it is painfully obvious that A LOT of things elude you.

... when all we have to do is call TLC's "While You Were Out" and have them touch up Dr. Evil's Moooon Base.
What a great idea!
Sincerely,

Point well served.
