Don't the have big enough bombs already? Do they want a bomb that can blow up the entire planet in one go? Or is this just an attempt to get nuclear like destruction without the stigma of real nuclear weapons?
There's a difference between electronics (eg a radio) and mechanics (eg the engine).
Your radio will work fine for years without maintenance.
Your engine won't.
