The reality is most Americans (myself included) do not want the airwaves constantly filled with obscenities. Yet we all know that the more obscene it is the more ratings it will get. That's why it's necessary to have a governing party to regulate. Sure they make some goofy calls sometimes but the FCC is a necessity. It's really not that complicated.
I love his answer to the question about critics, it's like reading one of his books. He goes on and on for an interesting read when he could have simply answered, "They don't bother me."
Why is Google doing all of these extra projects? Is it such bad business to simply have that powerful search engine without all the extra junk around it and leave it at that? It isn't broke, don't fix it. Just sit there, play golf, and collect the money your good product is making for you.
GAIM works better for linux based O/Ss. I like the Trillian interface better myself for my Windows boxes. Make sure you download the Tiny skin though, the default is huge.
Cards today cost WAY too much money. I'm running a Geforce 4600ti that I bought top of the line about 4 years ago and it still takes care of every game but doom3. Farcry even runs great on my card. I'm really feeling grat about paying that extra buck 4 years ago to get a card that's been able to last this long.
There is no way in hell I'm gonna dish out $600 for a video card. I'd rather play solitare. They really need to learn to control their prices, I can't imagine they'll sell too many cards at that price. The $200 cards are a better deal but I don't want a mid-range card, if I dish out money for a new video card I at the very least want to be able to run today's games at top quality and 60fps.
They'll have nothing of consumers actually upgrading PCs. PCs are to be sealed by magic tape and preserved for 1-3 years at which point it's your civic duty to purchase a new one.
With globalization we have reached a market that is entirely in the favor of employers and entirely against employees.
If you want your economy to succeed I suggest you take a "pro-employer" stance yourself. Face it, employees are a commodity and it's up to the smart employee to make him/herself valuable to the employer. You would want the current administration to force American businesses to only higher American employees? Kiss our nation's economy goodbye, we can't compete that way against the rest of the world. In the short term we may loose a few jobs to other nations but as long as the American businesses remain strong other jobs (maybe more white-collar) will be created here.
Firstly, I'm not one to say that the "outside of the country" variable makes a business decision moral or immoral. However, if it is indeed true that by keeping jobs inside your own nation you are strengthening your nation's economy then that can have a direct effect on your own personal quality of life. So if you are one to contend that the only important thing is benefiting yourself you should realize that by supporting your own country you are supporting yourself.
Design quality levels for popular games like Unreal and Q3 and submit them to community sites and mods. I knew a guy that used to live here in Atlanta that designed some really nice levels that appeared in mods like Rocket Arena and was noticed by people at EA and he got a job in California as a level designer
Something about rolling up your monitor is cool but I can't think of much more useless technology. Only the government could be interested in something so useless. Plus I've read enough scifi to know holographic displays are where its at
