Only so much oil was produced. It took millions upon millions of years. Some was easy to find and pump out, some hard. Most was in the middle. We started with easy. We just reached middle. Now it gets harder and harder.
Up until now a given amount of effort got so much oil. A little more effort got a little more oil. On the down slope it's the other way around. A little more effort gets a little less oil. Next time still more effort, still less oil. Eventually it takes more energy to get the oil than you can get from the oil.
At that point everyone decides to give up and go home.
As for facts and figures about oil fields, how much, etc. Start with "Peak Oil Primer."
We just took 27 viruses off a Windows machine. That's about average. Couldn't say what the average for a Linux box is. We've got some out there, but haven't gotten any statistics to average yet.
You used only three periods to separate those many words. Your sentences are overlong. Someone once gave me some tips about pursuasive writing. I'm going to pass along two. First, use short sentences. This will make your writing easier to understand. Second, linking many things together in one sentence does not establish that they are linked in reality. I ploughed through it all. You might have a point. Others might not persevere.
As to the substance or your remarks, it sounds as if you are concerned about the Bush administration. You fear that they may lead us into fascism.
I don't agree. I think we are headed into a theocracy.
Exactly. Fear keeps us from walking into traps, no matter how tempting the bait. Empathy allows us to predict what others are likely to do.
The Iraq trap was baited with oil. The bait looked good. Get the oil, sell it to pay for the war. Fear and common sense should have kept us out. Empathy would have allowed us to predict that the citizens of Iraq would have resisted our occupation, blown up the pipelines.
Hampered by inactive or damaged amygdalas, the Neo-Cons walked in, took the bait, got themselves embroiled in a stupid war. When Kerry tried to caution them about blundering around in minefields, they accused him of being too "sensitive."
The ruling applies only to governmental and quasi governmental entities. The private sector can do whatever they please, unless some specific law limits their powers.
So landlords could restrict tenants rights, regardless of what the FCC does.
Having been been identified as gifted, I can tell you that it's not always easy. I wound up being expelled from high school for asking questions in class. The problem was that the teachers couldn't answer the questions, and didn't know what to do about it.
I went to work at 16. I didn't finish college until my late twenties.
Go somewhere - where depends on where you live. Take an interest inventory. I like JEVS, but there are others. You can get it free, most states. Don't consider any major, any career area, which does not max on the results. Also, work style matters big time. It's inborne. Hard to change, don't bother trying. Head for something that fits your workstyle. These things don't change, short of brain surgery. Also don't trust colleges to advise on choice of career or vocational areas. Their staff don't generally know what they are doing. I'm in the field. I know.
So Microsoft sends freebees to Government Employees?
I used to work in hospitals. The drug companies used to come by all the time. Everyone got gifts. We got playing cards, pens, calculators, toys, etc.
Guess who paid? Who else? The public,of course. The same poor slobs who have to pay Microsoft. That's why people have to go to Canada to get pills.
