Not my site. Its a bloody joke. Its like people who post photos of their dead cats on the internet with memorial poetry... except worse.
Really, man.. what the hell do you think I am? The person behind that site probably regards slashdot as spawn of the devil... possibly for promoting that most deadly of sins: "Sloth".
I'd rather read a Neil Stephenson sex scene than a Steven Donaldson one. The latter has a decidely unhealty obsession with rape (in both the Thomas Covernant and The Gap series)
But could someone please explain why they have to travel over the border to use a photocopier?
Because that price in Mexico includes labor.
Basically you hand them the text book and come back a few hours later to find it all nicely copied and bound....assuming, of course, that after spending the $100 you saved on drinking Coronas and dodgy prostitutes, you are able to work out where the hell it was you left the book
Mexicans use "cabrona". In the southern cone, "Perra" (bitch) and "Puta" (whore) have about the same level of force. ie.. Los sudacas don't use "bitch" as a term of endearment like the gringos do.
Of course, in chile you have "huevona" (also "güeona"), but explaining that would fill a PhD thesis.
The 1D is an extremely cool camera, and I want one.
But you hit the nail on the head. Price.
When it comes down to under $800 for a body, I'll get one. I am half considering the Rebel-D, as there is custom firmware floating around that removes the restriction, but I still am not a huge fan of plastic bodied cameras, as I tend to be a bit careless sometimes.
Marketting - Its a number that they can stamp on the front of the Unit, and to most people "bigger number" = "Better camera".
There are a few of us who would actually see the difference between a 2MP and an 8MP image, but you are dead right is stating that optics in a standard consumer grade camera probably aren't up to scratch.
Me, I'm waiting for a Canon's next- or next-next- generation EOS digital so I can use it with my existing lenses. In the meantime I have a shitty Kodak digital camera that I use for taking shots to post to the web.
Why does society insist make making more and more disposable crap?
I'm glad you laid the blame on society, because if people didn't buy disposible crap, there'd be no money in it, and companies would stop making it.
Of course, the decades of Marketing that equate "disposible" with "convenient" have been a major contribution to the problem in the first place, but it goes to show that although there is a lot of lip-service paid to "environmentally friendly" options, the actions of the consumer show that, in reality, he couldn't give a fuck.
Its a good idea, but probably more part of the development side of slash rather than the forum.
IANASCC (I am not a slash code contributer) but have a poke around here for somewhere to submit your ideas.
I lived in a very Italian part of Sydney, and then in Melbourne, where coffee is smooth and aromatic, and bitter burnt coffee provided by Starbucks is widely regarded as an abomination.
However, good quality bitter chocolate (such as the Lindt 85%) is delicious.
For those who aren't familiar with it, the "Brazillian Layout" has all the key-caps removed, except for a few in the center of the top row.
Queue sirens... flashing lights...

Oh.. and remember
Crashing planes into buildings makes Baby Jesus cry.
We remember you, Whiskers

Its always been easy to track the winners at the Olympics.
They're the ones with the medals hanging around their necks.

What? Their proxy failed?
This may very well turn out to be the incentive I need to break my nose picking habit.
Or the Kia Smegma

More appropriate is the Mitsubishi "Pajero" which is sold here in latin america as the "Montero".
Pajero, in spanish, means "wanker"... and given the class of people who normally drive them, the name should have been left alone.
Less to suck a good movie make does not!
Guau. Thanks.
Gotta go and be nice to the girlfriend....
(and I meant the 10D in the above post, the 1D is, and will always be, out of my price range)

The LCD is detailed on the Maushammer pages. DataSheet for the LCD is here.

Oh, so its not a reference to "Only Shave Pandas' Feet".
I wondered what that had to do with Cisco.
Agreed.
If Taco had was talking about architectures, you could lump it all under Intel, but AMD are definitely a force.
Maybe they're enhanced instruction sets will set them apart in the future.
Wouldn't suprise me if we see some collaboration between AMD and Sun on a hybrid Risc set at some point in the future.
But how many of those declarations came from NetCraft?
