Carbon Fiber can be constructed to break apart in order to dissipate energy on high impact collisions.
Just look at this year's Canadian Grand Prix to see the results of Carbon Fiber in a crash. It contributed to saving the life of a driver.
The parts that were supposed to break away did. The parts that weren't did not.
If I'm falling out of the sky in a jet, the last think on my mind will be reviewing the finer points of the composite construction of the plane.
I know several people who are going to buy the iPhone without even having researched its real capabilities and limitations.
They are the traditional early adopters - the meat & potatoes lemmings the tech industry bank accounts feed on.
Like many early adopters, they just want the latest and greatest _________.
They (or their parents) have more money than sense. They generaly don't have the desire to dig in depth prior to purchasing.
Like a fish in a lake, they see something shiny and go for it with all they have.
Early adopters have been burned in the past but it doesn't affect them in the same way it affects more savvy consumers.
I wish Apple the best and I couldn't care less what happens to ATT.
I will stick to my little two-year-old clamshell cell phone with a small, cheap data plan so I can occasionally check the weather radar.
Yea. I have had more than one run-in with debates with Linux snobs.
I my experience trying to deal with the hard core Linux cult, they are an angry, hostile bunch of people. The most vocal ones do the most damage to hurt Linux.
I actually like Linux and have installed several distributions over the years on Mac and PC. It's a shame the hostile hard core Linux trolls take on such an arrogant air about themselves.
If you've ever installed Linux to run Ardour, or other audio apps you'll know what I mean. There are SO many dependencies that must be installed in a certain order that you spend your entire time under the hood and never use the audio app you downloaded.
And the documentation. Good grief!! There are so many variables to account for, so many shades of gray or "if this kernel version is running then go to this website for a tweak that (insert name) worked out, if you have this particular soundcard, (insert name here) has done a kernel tweak but in order to use the kernel tweak you must first blah, blah, blah"
I figured that by now someone would have kept track of all their time spent shredding and would have sent a bill to the offending credit card companies for their time and inconvenience.
It's on my list of things to do but all my free time is spend shredding this garbage.
Indeed BellSouth and Sony are exhibiting the worst of the worst corporate behavior. At least BellSouth announced their intention. (small comfort)
The best solution would be to make the internet faster so butt-wipes like BellSouth don't get any more cockeyed ideas like this. That's just pure sinister.
Indeed, corporations are becoming more and more oppressive.
Luckily, we have a voice with our congressmen and we can always use our pocketbooks to try to persuade BellSouth otherwise. I'll be contacting my representatives right now and letting them know how my vote will go if he doesn't stand up to this highway robbery.
We're in a free market and to have them cripple startups like that is unfathomable.
