AM radio is technology from 50 years ago or more. Get rid of it now before we're dragged backwards to the dark ages.

  2. Samsung already has better MP3 players on Samsung Steals the Brain Behind the iPod · · Score: 0

I use the YH-J70 and it was cheaper than the equivalent iPod, plus it plays videos/radio and has some other cool extra features. The navigation interface is also better. Aside from all that, it also doesn't have some of the problems of the iPod (fragility, skipping, unwanted bootups, etc). So I think a newer Samsung will be even better than the iPods.

  3. Layoffs on Novell Layoffs Coming This Month? · · Score: 0

Funny how everybody rants about everything not related to these layoff plans at all. Like Netware, Suse, Groupwise and the US economy. What seems to be the case is that some Novell acquisitions didn't work out and those are the primary targets. From: http://biz.yahoo.com/bizj/051024/1181522.html?.v=1 "Ziff Davis reported any layoff would likely impact Novell's Extend product line, which Web enables software applications. Novell acquired the product in its $212 million purchase three years ago of SilverStream Software, formerly based in Billerica, Mass."

Since when is morality grounds for ANYTHING? In modern society, pragmatism should ALWAYS dominate over moralistic views. Morality is doing nothing but criticizing those who are doing SOMETHING. It's basically the negation of life and there are always other considerations for what gets done, whether in science, politics, philosophy or anything else that matters. This means that scientists alone are to devise what is moral for them to research and how to proceed. Not atheists, christians, activists or any other -ists that promote their opinions gratuitously. Those concerned and involved with the work are solely responsible what they do, without ignorant ideologies breathing down their neck.

MSN search results are now much more up-to-date than Google's. I don't know what it is but since Google went public it has almost stopped indexing new sites (and I know from experience, I do engine submits daily). Also, the google rankings are completely absurd (I think they're guided by traffic views, not by any coherent standard of relevance).

You have children and joint filing deductions. It's not the same as someone single with an above average income, who is almost in the maximum bracket. You probably only make peanuts anyway, since you're in the bottom bracket. Same would be the case here if I made a lot less money. And no, I didn't imply that taxes were too high, I only implied that 35000/year is not enough for a qualified programmer. Don't draw tangential conclusions.
