I've gotta say, this is one lovely machine. Full Linux installation etc. What irritated me was the comment that 'you can install Windows XP, for those of us who don't have beards'. I figured he just doesn't know the difference between Unix and Linux and therefore inappropriately applied the stereotype.
However, in my case it's not applicable. Maybe I should have clarified from the start that I'm working on an RSS Reader (a SharePoint web part derived from this one). So my content comes from feeds, not a database.
That's why it should be encoded even if it's not supposed to have markup. I encode the title and anything else that gets displayed directly from the input.
This is the case where I subscribe to the school of thought that the RSS description element should have no markup. The original purpose of RSS was not to distribute whole articles but only describe them and provide a link.
Heck, I'm getting one of these and then putting the footage rights up on eBay.
And to skip ahead in the ad evolution, let's make it product placement... a video of me enjoying a nice bottle of Coke.
Or just the Window logo waving in the wind.
This is good news.... for me

My philosophy is, make my info a bit harder to get than the next guy's and I'm safe(er). So the fact that there are so many others out there whose info is so easy to get, just makes me feel safer. Just like putting the Club on my car. A thief can remove it w/o too much trouble, but it's still easier for him to just steal the car that doesn't have any theft-deterrent.
What does worry me is companies not guarding the information that I give them for legitimate use.
Wait, wait! I got a better idea. If you get spam from someone, send them a Gmail invite! It will confuse the heck out of them, and I don't know about you, but I got enough invites:-)
As the other 2 replies hint at, if a manufacturer is going to replace PS/2 ports with USB for keyboard, they should make sure that the BIOS that's on the motherboard handles it properly.
Brings a particular XKCD to mind: http://xkcd.com/277/
Is your real name Dirk Gently by any chance?
how about Radia Perlman?
Agreed.

I guess everyone is busy slashdotting the server.

OK, some valid points here, but in the name of compactness wouldn't it make sence to drop PS/2?
Also, + side of USB keyboard is it can be used as (albeit unpowered) USB hub.
Interesting that they are still bothering with PS/2 for keyboard and mouse. I just got a new Dell at work. No PS/2, just 8 USB 2.0 ports.
