  1. Gmail notifier does has popup notification.... on Gmail Cracks Down on Third-Party Notifiers · · Score: 2, Insightful

Personally, I find Google's gmail notifier annoying since it sits in my taskbar and doesn't have popup notification

I use Google's official Gmail notifier and I like it alot better than the firefox extension I used to use. It does feature popup notification, so I don't know what they were referring to. The only difference is you dont have to have a browser open and you're not going to get in trouble for using it, which I think is a benefit.

  4. here's why people will pay for a gmail account on Gmail Addresses For Sale · · Score: 1

    1. they get first cracks at user names without stupid numbers after it. while i was creating my account i checked for alot of cool account names to see if they were availible and there was a lot of great names still availible

    2. people are frustrated with free email accounts and you can expect a gmail account to have alot of cool features, it has alot already, and be around for a long time. i myself was waiting for a great webmail service to come along for a long time

    3. the account is free, its for 1gb and google is running it...those reasons alone might justify someone spending $30 bucks or so as a "one time fee" to have first cracks at their username

basically it's worth it to alot of people. and about wiping accounts i'd have to agree that would suck to alot of users and i don't think google would piss off people that have been using gmail and doing them a favor by beta testing it by wiping the accounts. even if some are buying them on ebay there's really no way to seperate legit and ebay accounts, so i don't think they'd do that. at least i hope not

In all likelihood, there are victims who do not report their losses to authorities due to either fear or embarrassment." They must use the money for their space program.

that's such a rip off...aren't they making enough already? go ahead and do that and lose all the support you've already gotten for downloading music legally. it's like they're too stupid to see that it's working very well how it is now for .99 cents and they're going to ruin it by themselves by having a price hike. i hope they do it and lose all the support they once had. then they can start pointing fingers at everyone but themselves

  8. alternative uses for hubble... on Hubble's Deepest Pictures Yet · · Score: 3, Funny

hubble has got some huge mirrors....maybe we should look into turning the to-be retired telescope into a high powered laser. we could pick off distant planets that we dont like, or perhaps when (notice i said when) we find bin laden we could use it to cook his ass from space. i guess the only question you really have to ask is: why wouldn't we want a super high powered laser floating in space?

  9. Re:You do have control of the price on Losing Control of Your TV · · Score: 2, Interesting

this is true in regards to something like a tv set or a receiver, where you know this kinda of protection is built in to it before you buy it. the problem with dvds and making users watch commercials is that no one knows when they're at the dvd store buying the dvd that they're gonna have to watch 10 minutes of previews before the movie they bought starts playing. by the time they get home and watch it and finally find out about the previews, they're most likely not going to return it for that reason. they'll be pissed, but not do anything about it. i think the only way to fix this problem is have a label on the back of the dvd case saying something like "There are 10 minutes of previews you must watch before the movie" then the buyer could look for that and then decide to buy it. Otherwise realistically theres no way to know which has previews and which doesn't. And unfortunately they'll have to get sued before this kinda of label warning idea ever happens. eff you listening? ;)

this is true. you forgot to mention how comcast doesn't have dual LNB inputs. which means only on a directivo can you be recording two shows at once and watching a third previously recorded one. that is an amazing feature in my book
