I've begun to feel this way even about (the few still living) artists that I like, such as Clapton. I remember reading once that he gave away 60 guitars to be auctioned off to charity. At the time, I couldn't even get my hands on one. So, no, I frankly just don't care about artists who are already rich. Simply put, I'm not so I don't see why I should support them. I've got better things to do with my money, like pay the rent.
Another thing that bothers me about these so-called "artists" is how they got where they are in the first place: 1) Some record exec likes them because they follow the formula or 2) they slept with the right person. By the formula, I mean they do exactly what the record execs think will be popular and rarely change it. If you think I'm just cynical then you don't know the music biz very well. One of the things I still respect the Beatles for to this day was breaking out of the cutesie formula the record execs wanted them to and doing their own thing; that qualified them for the label artist. Consider the popular "artists" of today who are following the same old formula. They're powerful enough to tell the record execs "or else" and do what they want, but how many do? Almost none. Meanwhile, hundreds of actually talented artists aren't even being recorded at all.
If I buy a game, and it won't work on my system, I am screwed. I can't get my money back. I've been burnt like this with a few titles in the past.

I can't agree with the second part of your post -- an all-out war with England could have resulted in absolute genocide for India, as in there would be no India or far fewer Indians today -- but I do have to agree with the first part. Just because they were more primitive doesn't mean they were more violent. As science has shown before, even our Stone Age ancestors might well not have been as violent as we are. Cooperation, as opposed to conflict, with spread out societies was to their advantage in trade for a more varied diet and to prevent inbreeding. Sure, the conflict would've resulted in some inter-breeding, but good relations between the tribes would result in more and in trade, which could last generations. Violence would get them a short-term gain, good relations a long-term gain for less effort. And with so little competition for the same resources in their territory, what did they have to fight about? Racism? Bah. Racism is just the bullshit excuse leaders come up with to convince their people to go kill other people for them (which goes to show what air-headed suckers we humans are, considering how stupid that is).
In conclusion to this rambling diatribe, it is very possible that Neanderthals were far less violent than homo sapiens. It is, in fact, quite likely that early homo sapiens were far less violent than we're inclined to assume.

Not only do they constantly bombard you with pleas to upgrade to their paid service, but they are supposed to delete your account if you don't check it every 3 weeks. But my account was deleted under this claim when it had been only 1 week since I checked it. Yes, I'm sure. Not only that, but when I tried to create an account with the same name, whenever I pressed okay I got an error message that I couldn't use that name without upgrading. After that I'd started using GPG with Gmail. Both are free.
I guess I'm old-fashioned, or just learned better because I was raised in a poor rural area, but it's better to learn how to do something yourself if it's easy anyway than to pay someone too much to do it for you.
