So google wil pay for the scanning. Must be a great contract for whatever place does the scanning. I wonder who? Or do you think google does it themselves?

Umm....you must not be thinking quite straight. Mac OS Windows Media Player is a free download. On the other hand, that just goes towards Windows filetype dominance, so rant on. Rant on! don't let me stop your over-generalizing use of "nothing" and "except"

  3. Why this gal is not a female gamer on Girls in the Gaming World · · Score: 2, Insightful

Hm.... I've seen a lot of stereotypes and statistics thrown out there. Two that I want to comment on.

In male-male friendships I often see guys jokingly insulting each other. "Midget", "Idiot" and more. In female friendships, verbal attacks are taken seriously. If I insulted one of my female friends, it would be assumed I meant what I said. Sure we spar verbally, but not aiming for each other. (Politics, other people, random fish (yes, fish), anything can be a argument) So though you have a bunch of guys insulting each other easily and they still have fun, a girl fresh into the world of gaming wouldn't be ready for insults she isn't supposed to be offended by. This isn't my reason though.

The main reason I have not downloaded the UT demo or any such thing is: I don't want to start out bad. I don't want to lose, to a guy or otherwise. Don't act like it's only the guys who don't care if they lose now.

Neverwinter Nights has a pause button... Pause and chage views. It also has a simple module making tool. Use that and you can stare at all the pretty monsters you want without even needing a character. Make a module for yourself and you can even watch them kill each other. Gold Ancient vs. two Balors. sweetness. But you probably know all this... unless you're to lazy to even pause and hit a few keys. ..... Oh, wait.

  5. Episode III NOT coming to any theaters near you on Brazil Takes Lead in All-Digital Cinema Projection · · Score: 5, Insightful
Hollywood has made halting forays into digital cinema - George Lucas says that he will show the next Star Wars installment, due out next year, in theaters only with digital capability. But the cost of converting theaters to digital and concerns over piracy has the US movie industry moving in slow motion

Episode III, not coming to any theaters near you anytime soon. How many will just go to see it even if they know it's bad when they can't even drop down to their local theater? Nobody will inconvinience themselves for a movie who's draw is mainly "I just want to see how the thingends already". Of course maybe it won't be bad, but what are the odds of that?

I liked that site. My school had tons of reviewed teachers, and you could read 'em and then there would be this moment of "Hey! I know who wrote this!" That was cool. If one teacher has one problem, he should get it removed and make the site check what's being posted more. He doesn't need to shut the site down.

  9. Re:Search will be a commodity soon on How Google Can Make or Break A Small Business · · Score: 1
It's a very good thing that searches are becoming commodities. No monopoly is a good thing. Right now, Google is beautiful, easy, and effective, but things can change. companies can go wrong. I'm young, so I wouldn't know, but I imagine that when Microsoft began windows, it was an amazing thing. Now, it's hated by some, because it's everywhere, and it's not perfect. If Google is the only search engine, all it's flaws will become very obvious.

The more things are used, the more errors show up. If something is used by millions, then those who break systems for their own profit will go after it. I don't just mean crackers either. All those people who manipulate google are an example, and so are companies who use politics for profit in America. They break the system that is suposed to give the little people a voice. Hopefully, all these newer search engines you speak of will stop any monopolies, so that google will not become the next windows, with it's own community of those who hate it. Don't say it's not possible. Google makes searchs easy for the common user, cares about profit, is expanding into many other internet jobs (news, social network, etcetera), and leaves competition in the dust. Sounds like Microsoft to me. But let's hope I'm wrong.
