How is that a problem?
The problem is that the returned pages are pages i'm not looking for:-) If I'd go to yahoo and search for the same exact keywords, I'd get my documents from the first time! (I'm not suggesting the yahoo have better seraching algorithms)
Well, I started to find Google exteremely furstrating now. Whenever I try to serach for documents/specifications/data sheets of a certain protocol or an idea that has a large commercial use, google would send you pages, and pages, and pages of products that matched these keywords. It's very obvious that companies are buying these keywords. Thus, they have higher priorities on our first few pages in the search results.
... can be obtained by using specialized testing tools like Smartbits (just one example out of thousands of them. Basically, these devices/tools generate manged traffic. So, you can direct one of these devices to your servers/networks and start measuring points of saturation. Just spend few minutes on google searching for testing tools and you will end up with a list of 100s of them to be used in different areas like wired/wireless, security, VoiP, etc....

Evil thrives, when good men do nothing!
... on a large scale. The US government will never let it go. Remeber what they've done to VoIP. They are against getting all the internet traffic encrypted.
You might argue that we can still use VPNs. That's true, but is it easier to tap few VPN tunnels and having the rest of traffic to intercept, mail filtering,.... or tap a whole network of encrypted traffic and have absolutely no idea of what's going on?
Not to forget that the US gov. still restrict exporting strong encryption to certain countries!
They will find a way/regulation/pressure to halt any large scale project to implement it.
well, since I used to play Taekwondo, in the Olympics and all major Taekwondo competitions, competitors are required to cover the brand logos on the uniform they wear, it really looks ugle, I hated that.
yeah, I mean this issue has been tackled so many times in the information security arena. This technique has more cons than pros, cause it will cause a large number of false alarms not to mention the uncomfortable way it would be performed. Finally, one thing to remember is that the people who planned the 9-11 day weren't identified as terrorists before that date! So what they will be doing is scanning millions of passengers just to catch a small number of guys, may be less than 10!!
But who would like to have his traffic travelling miles around the country being exposed to millions of other users! Even if it's encrypted, blah, blah, blah, your information is in the ether available to everybody.

I thought they already did that with the current web!
