    I saw this bit

    and I bet that makes three of us who would support it. You, me, and the soldier concerned.

    Might be good though, if we noticed that the most efficient thing for preventing the death of a soldier in combat is certainly stopping the combat in question. If we try that approach however, one third of us might begin suffering from anything from utter boredom to out-and-out depression.

    Why am I not surprised. Lactose free cheese ! Free as in beer ? As in speech ? Will they pay me to take it away ? Will I get arrested if I'm found with it (like burglary tools, say) ?

    The only true cheddar comes from England. Furthermore, the bacteria don't have to be killed "at the right time". "At the right time" the bacteria commit suicide by running over the side of the Cheddar Gorge (English equivalent of the Grand Canyon) just like lemmings.

    I'm a /. follower, and I agree with you. There are way too many excited people around here. I'll give Vista a try - I probably wont have much option since it'll come installed in the box I'll up-date to. (I don't have the time to fight it, and I don't have the time to build my own box - all my spare time is wasted by fooling around on /.)

    So yeah, I'll give it a try. Once SP2 is out, and on a machine which gives me the option of booting to Linux (that option I'll make the time to arrange). Don't see anything to get excited about.

    Ah, memories. Let's remember the barrier between East and West Germany. I'm sure that the technology is for sale at this moment - and cheap too, I bet. Mine fields, razor-wire, radar triggered shot-guns, border patrol folks who were paid a bonus "per head" - sure worked out well in the end. A lot of the guys involved are unemployed today. And they have years of experience at the work. And they're big, white, and for the most part blond. Could this be the answer to the problem ?
